CRJS students earn a majority of the cost of their education through the Corporate Work Study (CWS) program. The CWS program operates as a temporary employment agency. $25M CRJS is actively recruiting our first class of grade 9 students. Our goal is to welcome 100+ young people in the fall of 2024. These students, along with students admitted in 2025 and 2026, will attend classes in the current building (four classrooms) and three portables. CRJS will exceed the capacity of these spaces by 2027, when enrollment will reach 400+ students, making the need urgent B SCHEME: COMMONS VIEW LOOKING SOUTH and time sensitive. To meet this demand, CRJS is launching a $25M capital campaign to purchase our leased property and build a state-of-the-art, 19,000+ square foot, two-story academic building with 10 classrooms, including two modern science labs and a variety of collaborative, flexible learning spaces. An outdoor courtyard will connect the current and new buildings together into one cohesive and integrated campus. The new building will provide leading-edge educational spaces for students and feature a 160+ person learning amphitheater.

$15-17M CRJS is leasing and sharing space with St. Paul Parish, an approximately 6-acre property located at the south end of Lake Washington in the Rainier Beach neighborhood. For 65+ years, until 2021, St. Paul School held a rich legacy of educating neighborhood K-8 students. This location provides a unique opportunity to recreate a vibrant educational hub for south Seattle and the surrounding community. A growing Early Learning Center program will remain on campus but move to a brand new building, allowing CRJS to gain an additional four classrooms (4000+ square feet of academic space). Construction costs include permits, review, design, preconstruction + FFE.
ESTIMATED PURCHASE PRICE
$6-8M CRJS negotiated an option to purchase the property in July 2025 (not including St. Paul church, Romans Hall, and the property designated for the new ELC building), which will enable construction to begin in 2026.
