Breast cancer continues to be the most common cancer affecting women in the Philippines. While it poses a serious health challenge, awareness and early detection can make all the difference.
DID YOU KNOW?
The Philippines has one of the highest breast cancer rates in Asia, with about 3 in every 100 women diagnosed before age 75
PROTECT YOUR HEALTH
KNOW THE SIGNS & SYMPTOMS
Be alert to changes in your breasts and see a doctor if you notice:
Lump in breast or armpit
Nipple discharge
Change in size or shape
Skin dimpling, puckering, or redness
Nipple pulling, inversion, or itching
Persistent breast pain
CHECK. CARE. SHARE.
While lifestyle habits can’t guarantee prevention, staying active, eating well, and avoiding smoking or excessive alcohol can help lower your risk. Being mindful of your body and reporting any unusual changes is just as important as regular check-ups.
EARLY DETECTION SAVES LIVES
Early detection makes treatment more effective. Do a monthly breast self-exam and pay attention to any changes in shape, size, or texture. Schedule regular check-ups with your doctor and ask about mammograms as part of your routine screenings. If you notice anything unusual, consult your physician.
Take charge of your health and encourage the women around you to do the same.
