Welcome...

Welcome to our 16 th annual bull sale. We have moved our sale earlier this year and Ryan Hurlbert is returning to the block to sell the sale. He has been through the bulls in January so If you want his takeon them don’t hesitate to give him a call.

This year will feature new AI/ET genetics in Pie Captain, SAV Certified, SSS Tycoon and Trend Spotter as well as large sire groups from our herdbulls ACC Stunner 14G, ACC Platinum 1J, Redbox 119H and Nozeka 23J. The offering is deep in quality and variety and includes many popular sire groups such as Dracarys, Wick, S Architect and U2 Revival 147G to name a few.

This year the bulls were fed a balanced TMR growing ration of hay silage, straw, corn silage, rolled barley, whole oats and a custom formulated mineral. The bulls are very athletic and have been wintered in large paddocks to ensure they get plenty of exercise. They will go straight to work and walk your pastures with ease. All of the cattle are familiar with both horses and dogs. We work with the bulls daily and we value the good dispositions in our breeding lines.

We took a pen of red bulls on the road this fall to Harvest Showdown and Western Canadian Agribition. Lot 1 won the King of the Ring Jackpot at Harvest Showdown. Our pen made the top three for the Peoples Choice Pen of Bulls Competition at CWA. We exhibited at Manitoba Ag Ex and brought home banners for Reserve Champion Intermediate Bull Calf, Champion Intermediate Heifer Calf and Reserve Champion Junior Female.

You will notice three bulls in the sale carrying the L-7 brand, these bulls belong to our Herdsman Justin Logeot. Justin is an invaluable part of our team and we so appreciate everything he does for us. These bulls sell with the same guarantees as the rest of the offering and Justin will stand behind them 100%.

This year we said goodbye to two people that are irreplaceable in our family. Ione’s brother, Melvin, passed away suddently in June, and Ione’s mom, Donna, passed away in August. We will forever miss Uncle Melvin coming through the door saying “WHAT’S GOING ON HERE”, and his wisdom on almost anything you asked him. We will miss Grandma Donna’s warmth, love and baking. She never hesitated to share tweaks to make a recipe perfect, but her love will be the one ingredient we cannot replicate.

Austen and Katie have been kept busy with Finley who turned 4 in January. He loves to be outside exploring the farm. Remi will turn two in May and loves helping feed cows in the tractor. Their house is a buzz of activity between these two.

Breanna, Wade and Ember spent lots of time at the farm this summer and helped with various parts of the operation. Breanna is back at work at Beef Smart as a nutritionist. Wade has several projects on the go and kept busy curling and hunting this fall/winter. They are having an RTM built in Regina and are excited for its arrival this winter.

Bruce and Ione are enjoying being grandparents, traveling to Hawaii and enjoying time at the lake.

You are welcome to stop by the farm any time prior to the sale to view the cattle. If we can help you select your next herd sire please don’t hesitate to call. Hope to see you March 6th!

Red ACC Redbox 88M is correct in his structure and has the performance to breed cows but also the calving ease to be used on well developed heifers or 1st calvers. His maternal brother Nozeka 1K sold to Oak Lane Farms in 2023.

Lot 1 was the heavy weight in our pen of Bulls that we showed last fall. He’s thick built from his nose back and has a great set of testicles underneath him that are going to measure really well. This is the third time that 127F has raised a Redbox 119H son. When you find something that works this well just stick to it. The other two Redbox sons sold to Logan Lytwyn and Jim Todischuk. Her 2021 bull calf by Nozeka 98G sold to Doug Alford.

Lot 3

Lot 3 & 4 are twins raised by a moderate Pacesetter daughter with a really correct udder. Both of these bulls would work really well on cows and leave some really nice daughters. We are very proud of how well Redbox 119H has bred plan on continue to use him in the future.

Red ACC Captain 123M easily could have been lot 1 in this book. He has the $150,000 PIE Captain 057 sire on the top side of his pedigree. Austen saw Captain at Western Breeders, Gordon Nebraska when traveling their with his Brother in Law Wade Olynyk to attend the Krebs Ranch bull Sale. He appreciated Captain for his Angus skull and muscle pattern. He patterns very similarly to Redbox 119H. On the Bottum side of this pedigree is our most productive cow Red ACC Tibbie 13B. She has registered 56 calves so far and has exported embryos all over the world. Her son’s have been sale features for 5 years consecutively and her daughters are going to be raising high sellers for the next decade.

Flush brothers

The only Dracarys 178E son to sell in our sale this year and he is a dandy. Smooth topped, big haired and correct structured right to the ground. His dam is a favourite daughter of Red ACC Nozeka 81C who continues to make a name for himself as a sire of top-quality replacement females.

Red ACC Seneca 56M was part of our Pen of Bulls at Harvest Showdown and Agribition. He is an elite calving ease bull that would be an asset in any program. Rreds Seneca 731C is a proven calving ease sire throughout North America. His daughters are moderate, correct and fertile. Jeff Bloom and Austen toured Rhodes Red Angus Ranch in 2023 and were impressed by what Seneca was doing there.

Lot 7

Here’s a set of Flush brothers that will excel breeding replacement heifers. We flushed to Tycoon because he combines calving ease with extra frame and performance. 81C has registered 11 progeny including Red ACC Roxie 32F that sold to Blairs West in the Mulbery Mayhem event in 2019 for $11,000.

Lot 9

Lot 12 &13 will both do really well breeding heifers. Wick 146H has done an excellent job here leaving great footed calving ease bulls that are sought after by our customers. Lot 12 is out of a very nice Redbox 119H daughter who s dam 65Z is still in production. Lot 13’s dam Red ACC Roxie 40D is a favourite here and raised one of the bred heifers we sold in the Wheelers Stock Farm Celebration Sale.

Deep chested, masculine, and thick. He’s been a fun one to watch all year. Half brother to Lot 57, and neither of them have been shy on growth. Valentine 110H does some pretty nice work.

Real nice muscle patterns on this guy. Add that to his great feet and structure and it makes for a darn attractive bull that brings some punch to the table. Maternal half brother went to work at Copperhead Cattle Co last year.

Dark red, athletic and smooth in his lines. Red ACC Barry 160M was raised by a cow we purchased at Red Round Up as a heifer calf. She’s raised a couple replacement heifers for us and sent a bull to Clarion Colony.

Calving Ease bull raised by a very nice Tibbie 13B daughter. Barry 40C did a great job at 6 Mile Red Angus leaving top notch females. Our high seller in 2023 was a Halls Barry son. This bull has plenty of style and maternal greatness behind him to raise attractive females.

RED ACC PARAMOUNT 44M

This is as cool a pedigree as you will find. He has three great red carrier bulls in his pedigree and four cows that are or were leading their respective programs. All the greatness of the black Angus breed rolled into a red hided package. He’s easy to find in the pen. Thick, Masculine and stylish. He’s going to be one of the great ones.

RED ACC PARAMOUNT 81M

U2Q

Bred the same way as lot 18 but with more cow power in the Samaria cow family. He has the most performance and frame in this sire group. Recommended for Cows.

Red WVR Paramount

Paramount 410K

Lot 20 & 21 are more moderate type bulls. Use them to limit frame and produce those efficient easy keeping females. Not recommended for heifers.

Red ACC Bohanon is thick, dark red with a really nice mama cow behind him. 168J raised a great Wick son last year that sold to Neil Rooks.

Lot 25

These Architects have plenty of performance to go with their exceptional calving ease. They would work really well on heifers or 2 year old cows. All three ACC Cows on the bottom side of this pedigree are doing a great job here.

dam of Lot 29

Want to raise quality females? Look at the bottom side of this pedigree. Wisdom, Alliance, Rosebud. Yup this guy will raise the kind you will fall in love with.

dam of Lot 35

Recommended for cows. Dam has registered 9 calves and has several daughters in the herd.

Dam is elite status with an average ratio of 115. We sold her daughter 21L for $10,000 at the Wheeler Celebration sale to Kay S Cattle Corp. 164M was the 2nd heaviest bull calf in his group of 38 at weaning with a WW ratio of 128.

or young

Dam is the result of some embryos we purchased. PM Tibbie 216’15 was the high selling female in the 2023 Rose Bowl Sale for $38,000. Plenty of calving ease in 146M for breeding heifers.

60A
