Academic Excellence
Creighton Prep’s new strategic plan comes on the heels of several exciting years of innovation and growth in our educational mission. As a Jesuit school, our desire is to labor with Christ for the transformation of the world. Moving into the next five years and beyond, Creighton Prep sees the following key challenges and opportunities as pathways to that desire, which we address with this strategic plan.
• To deepen and demonstrate the value of a Prep education through measurable academic rigor and capstone programming that demonstrate the power of critical thinking in service to the world.
Accessibility & Belonging
• To maintain and extend Prep’s accessibility to talented young men from across Omaha and the sense of belonging that has been a characteristic of the Prep experience in order to enable students to fully develop as leaders and men for others.
Whole Person Formation
• To deepen our distinctive whole person formation that orients our young men toward others, their communities and the world in a way that resists tendencies toward isolation and individualization.
Infrastructure for Mission
• To invest in data and physical infrastructures that enable a transformative experience.
I am filled with excitement and optimism about the opportunities that lie ahead for Creighton Prep. Together, with our shared commitment and an incredible community, we can continue to achieve great things and shape the future of our school for generations to come.
In Christ’s Mission,

Fr. Matt Spotts, SJ President

VALUES
MISSION
Creighton Preparatory School forms men of faith, scholarship, leadership and service in the Catholic and Jesuit tradition.
VISION
As a Jesuit apostolate in the city of Omaha, Creighton Preparatory School welcomes students from throughout the region we serve; empowers all students to know their intrinsic worth by the way we honor, treasure and value each student as a unique and unrepeatable gift from God; forms students who cultivate the fullness of their God-given gifts and abilities through a rigorous academic, spiritual and human formation program; and graduates students who are compelled by the urgent question of how God is calling them to use their unique gifts for the good of others.
Our faith, scholarship, leadership and service endeavors are grounded in the following values and Jesuit principles:
• Education of the Whole Person: We believe that education is holistic and a sacred process. Therefore, we encourage our students to become Open to Growth, Intellectually Competent, Loving, Religious and Committed to Doing Justice. We educate our students to be prepared for higher education and for life.
• Magis: We believe that effective people constantly examine their daily decisions and lives. We commit ourselves to apostolic decision-making by asking the questions, “What more can I do?” and “How can I do what I do more effectively to bring forth the greater glory of God?”
• Men and Women for and with Others: When Fr. Pedro Arrupe, SJ coined this phrase, he defined it as “persons who cannot conceive of the love of God without the love of neighbor.” We recognize our responsibility to work collaboratively in the formation of the Reign of God. We actively encourage all members of our constituencies to be generous in sharing their time, talents and resources with others in need, to be fair and just in their relationships, and to live the faith that does justice in the world.
• Cura Personalis: We recognize that education must take place in the context of caring relationships. Supported and guided by our faculty and staff, our students must discover their unique gifts and talents, and their inherent worth. To enable this discovery, faculty and staff must be supported to develop their individual strengths.
• Leadership: We prepare our students to be leaders in service of others. We recognize that leaders will make a difference by their actions, choices, examples and influence, regardless of whether they are in positions of responsibility. We expect our leadership to promote justice.
• Belonging: The original Jesuits called themselves “La Compañia de Jesus,” the company or companions of Jesus. Our community is by its nature diverse, and we believe that our mission can only be fully accomplished when each member of our community believes that they belong in our mission and that the mission belongs to them.

Together, we will build a future that reflects and commemorates our past, while setting a visionary path to inspire those who will come well after us to form men of faith, scholarship, leadership and service in the Catholic and Jesuit tradition.
