Make Your Own Arctic Express Train

If Santa travelled by train he would prefer this one!

The Obskaya–Bovanenkovo Line is a 525-kilometre long (326 mi) railway line in northern Russia, which was built and is owned by Gazprom. In February 2011, it was extended to the Karskaya station, making it 572 km long. The railway contains a 3.9-kilometre long (2.4 mi) bridge, the Yuribey Bridge. The railway is the northernmost railway in the world.

Make Your Own Arctic Express Train

O

nce you have gathered all the material, follow these steps. Make sure your mum or dad is watching over while you do this so that you can reach out to them when you need help.

Get Ready Gather all the material required and use a flat surface like a table or a bench to do the activity.

Keep some tissues or cleaning cloth ready for use in case of spillage. Make sure an adult is watching over you in case you need help.

WARNING: Not suitable for children under 3 yrs. Do not attempt to chew or swallow the foam pieces.

Instructions • Step 1: Making the Front Part of the Engine a. Assemble the three sides and the top of the carriage as shown in the image ①. Use the interlocking groves to fix the parts together. b. After the sides are joined together, push the blue rod through the round holes on the sides as shown in image ①.

Step 2: Making the body of the Engine a. Add two triangular edge foam-pieces on to the rectangular long blue foam piece as shown in the image ②. b. Add two square sides to the triangular edge side pieces and the base piece so as to form the shape of a hut. Refer to the image ②. Your main body is partly ready. c. Add the front part of the engine (made in step ②) to the blue rectangular foam base as shown in image ③. d. Add two white foam wheels to both end of the rod of the front part of the engine. Refer to image ④. e. Put the small cap on top of the front part of the engine. Refer to Image ④. f. Add the white roof foam parts to the top of the main engine body. Refer to image ④. g. The engine of the Arctic Express is now fully ready.

Step 3: Adding the carriage: a. Use the small blue foam pieces to make the four sides of the carriage and add it to the blue rectangular base at the back of the main engine. Refer to image ④. b. Push through 2 blue rods through the holes on the sides of the carriage. Add 1 blue rod through the hole on the sides of the main engine. Refer to image ⑤. c. Add wheels to all the 3 blue rods. Refer to image ⑥. d. Peel off the white snow stickers ⑦ and add to the sides of the carriage. Refer image ⑧.

Step 4: Use the Snowman, wheels and other stickers provided to decorate the train model as shown in image ⑨.

Your very own Arctic Train Express is ready to depart! Use it as a Christmas Decoration or a table Centrepiece to celebrate this festive season.
