Geology

Wetlands

The geology exhibit would provide the history of Jamaica’s formation through films using animation and sound effects. Earthquake and volcanic activities would be featured through use of technological equipment. Extruded foam cave or faux wall – limestone effect, lighting, UV lighting, rock and mineral samples, Bat specimens included. Specimens will have to be collected for the installations and some features

This diorama will showcase the properties of a common Jamaican wetland.

Components include real and model mangrove roots, backlit, pond effect, photo wrapped background, specimens such as the crocodile, turtle, manatee –replicated, sand and faux rock, touch screen information stand.

Rain forrest

Coral Reefs

This exhibit would provide a unique underwater experience of a typical healthy coral reef. Components include: Extruded foam overhang, lighting effects fish and coral organisms replicated real and preserved.

Specimens would include sea snails, crabs, lobsters, star fish, sea fans. The background will be projected images from underwater film stock, lighting effect to get feel of

Dry limestone forrest DRY LIMESTONE FOREST ecosystem: This display will depict arid conditions associated with a dry limestone forest. Components include bright white lighting, faux rocks, sand, iguana – replicated, cacti – replicated, photo wrapped background, touch screen information stand

WET LIMESTONE FOREST Ecosystem (Divided into Understorey and Canopy) - This would be divided into two sections; understory showcasing plants and animals typical of that section of the forest while the canopy region would highlight the plants and animals of this area. Components include lighting effects to mimic, dappling of trees, birds, lizards, frogs, endemic yellow snake – replicated, photo wrapped background, ferns and lianas – replicated, touch screen information stand
