MISSION OVERVIEW

Sheba Medical Center and the State of Israel were born together in 1948, and will celebrate their 75th anniversary in 2023.

Join Sheba supporters from around the world May 28 through June 5, 2023 as this global mission joyously celebrates these two connected milestones.

This full week of seeing, meeting, tasting and experiencing Israel will include:

• Experiences on the Sheba campus testing the latest in MedTech at the ARC Digital Innovation Center

• An exclusive reception at the official home of the President of Israel

• Tantalize your senses during a tasting tour of historic Levinsky Street in Tel Aviv

• Share a private dinner with Sheba Director-General Yitshak Kreiss

• Meet the Nexus Program’s doctors during a TED Talks session

• Experience up close the latest excavations in Jerusalem’s City of David

• My Bayit is Your House: An evening at home with Sheba’s leading department heads and physicians

• Meet senior leadership implementing the historic Abraham Accords

• Q&A sessions with authors, journalists, and influencers

• Celebrate together with thousands of Sheba’s supporters and staff at the International Gala

The land portion of the mission (including accommodations, transportation within Israel, and most meals) is at no cost to Sheba donors of $5,000 and above in 2023.

Accommodations will include five-star hotels and Israel’s best restaurants and chefs.

An interactive Q&A Session with David Horovitz, Editor of the Times of Israel

Day 2

Monday | 29.5.23

Morning yoga or guided meditation

Lunch: “Delicious Israel” – A guided eating tour of the Levinsky Street Shuk

Dinner on the roof of the Tel Aviv Museum with members of the cast of “Fauda”

Day 3

Tuesday | 30.5.23

Morning yoga or guided meditation

Day at Sheba Medical Center (Groups will rotate through all four experiences):

Group A: Innovation Showcase at ARC

Group B: Disaster drill exercise

Group C: Treating Trauma, Learning to Heal

Group D: Transplant Center Equipment Check

Group E: Can You Pass? – Simulation Tests at MSR

Cocktails

in the Kikar: Visit Rabin Square with sunset cocktails on the roof of Tel Aviv City Hall with Ron Huldai, Mayor of the Start-Up City in the Start-Up Nation Home hospitality with hospital staff for dinner. Depart from Rabin Square.

Day 4

Wednesday | 31.5.23

TED Talks at Sheba Medical Center

Meetings patients and their doctors

MSR visit with simulation and training

Sadnat Gal: art therapy with soldiers

Safra Children’s Hospital: In-hospital school; story time with pediatric patients; medical clowns; VR goggles

Travel by bus to Jerusalem

Proceed to the famous Mahane Yehuda food and spice market, one of the most beautiful markets and most familiar icons in Israel. Enjoy the plethora of flavors, aromas, and colors of the Mahane Yehuda outdoor market, as well as meet some of the people who live and work here.

Lunch on own.

Afternoon

Choose between a guided tour of Yad Vashem, tour of the latest Ir David excavations, or Kotel tunnels

Dinner – Participate in a top chef hands-on cook-off with Baba Yona Ranch Chef Gadi

Day 5

Overnight at the Mamilla hotel

Thursday | 1.6.23

Morning yoga or guided meditation

Cooperation with Palestinians across the Green Line: Dr. Amitai Ziv & Dr. Maher at St. Joseph Hospital in East Jerusalem

Travel to East Jerusalem and meet the Palestinian doctors working with Sheba’s leadership and interns training at Sheba, learn about the Palestinian Authority’s healthcare system and its challenges and opportunities.

The Abraham Accords: From Ideation to Implementation

Meet senior leadership implementing the historic Abraham Accords and learn how Sheba is already working in the region, featuring US Ambassador Tom Nides and Bahrain’s first ambassador to Israel Khaled Yousif al Jalahma

A special reception at the President’s residence

Head back to Tel Aviv, freshen up at hotel

“How Sheba Makes a Difference”

A reception and dinner at the home one of Sheba’s most generous Israeli donors in Savion
