14th November, 2017 Reflection Fear not that thy life shall come to an end, but rather fear that it shall never have a beginning. To live is to change, and to be perfect is to have changed often. Nothing would be done at all if one waited until one could do it so well that no one could find fault with it. -John Henry Newman

Office of the eSafety Commissioner Recently the Office of the eSafety Commissioner launched a world-first initiative—Australians who have had intimate images or videos shared without their consent are now able to access tangible support and advice through their new online portal- Image Based Abuse (IBA) Their research shows that a significant number of Australians have been affected by IBA—1 in 5 for women aged 18-45 and 1 in 4 for Indigenous Australians. Sharing an intimate image without consent is unacceptable and can have devastating impacts on victims, which is why the Office has made it a priority to tackle this insidious practice and give Australians a place to find help, support and to report. Five ways to change up your digital reputation A poor digital reputation can affect your friendships, relationships and even your job prospects, so it is very important that you are aware of what picture you are painting of yourself online and protect your digital reputation today. Since its conception at Harvard, Facebook’s been used to share billions of users’ photos, thoughts, videos and memories. As a result, online profiles have become a digital resume—employers and University administrators regularly do Google searches or check out social media profiles to assess potential applicants. Health and Wellbeing week There is nothing better than having a little bit of good old fashioned fun just before life gets stressful. A few weeks ago the Social Justice team ran a week of activities to do just that; have fun before exams and TATs start. There was popcorn for sale, stress ball making, balloon sculpting, skipping, a ball bob and frisbee throwing. The highlights of the week were certainly the sausage sizzle and the Gelati van. It was wonderful to see so many students with a smile taking part in the activities.

CRC Wishing Tree Let’s spread Christmas Cheer to those in need in our school community. Luke 6:38 Give, and it will be given to you Each class is currently collecting donations for Christmas hampers which are given out to families and charity organisations within our community. We ask that families get behind this as much as they can so that we can all share the spirit of Christmas. Psalm 41:1- 3 Oh, the joys of those who are kind to the poor! The LORD rescues them when they are in trouble. Marg Rowe-Watts Social Justice Coordinator
