Inspire is an award winning charity that was established in 1988 and is now one of Scotland's largest charities, empowering life choices of children, young people and adults with learning disabilities and additional support needs in North East Scotland.

Our vision is to empower people's life choices and we do this by offering a wide range of services including residential and supported accommodation projects, support to people living in their communities, respite and emergency Respite care, holiday activity schemes and innovative day services.

Our mission is to be a leading charity in the field of learning disabilities And other support needs, developing a range of competitive services to facilitate an inclusive and integrated community through involvement of people we support and employees, enabling empowerment of individuals and encouraging potential to build independent lives.

Inspire Ventures is the social enterprise arm of Inspire, and consists of Café Coast and Meeting Rooms and Café Academy.

Our newest venture, in the form of a small outlet within Central Library, is An exciting expansion of the Café Coast brand. Opening late January 2013, Café Coast Express @ The Library will be serving hot and cold drinks, sandwiches and paninis, of the same high standard served in Café Coast, to members of the Public. Café Academy is a unique training for employment scheme which aims to open Opportunities into mainstream employment, increase social and economic Independence, and break down barriers that are experienced by individuals with Learning disabilities and additional support needs. We are delighted that we have the chance to take part in the fun of Baker Hughes 10K again this year and look forward to meeting runners who would like to be a part of this year's Team Inspire!
