Adaptronics Advanced Manufacturing Technology Laboratory Innovation support opportunities

The Cape Peninsula University of Technology – Adaptronics – Advanced Manufacturing technology laboratory (Adaptronics AMtl) was established in 2007. The primary objective of the unit is to specialize as a national manufacturing, research and educational resource centre for Adaptronic technologies in South Africa. Adaptronics is that technology that integrates sensor and actuator functions into materials, components and structures so that they may react to environment stimuli thus making them intelligent. Alignment with TIA objectives The units’ focus is on the development of human capital in scarce skills with a specific drive towards innovation,

technology, and commercialisation for the South African engineering industry. Furthermore, the Adaptronics AMTL also engages industry Partners, regional and national government departments, other higher education institutions (hei’s), and national research facilities. These engagements look at providing Technical Assistance and Technology developments focusing on governments drive towards localisation.
