One year journey of a PEER EDUCATOR

A STRATEGIC LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME

An effective way to transfer knowledge, skills, and attitudes regarding different issues affecting youth.

Peer education is an extracurricular program in which students from the same age group or community share knowledge and skills topics or issues that affect students. The aim of peer education is to inform and influence behaviour change among individuals in the same age group or community. What do they do?

Recruitment process

1. Identify target audience: CPUT registered students from 2nd year up Masters.

2. Develop program materials: Create informative and appealing poster that provide details about the program, its goals, and benefits of participating.

3. Outreach and promotion: Disseminate the program on posters through our various channels to reach the target audience: social media platforms, website, NewsFlash, Tell a Friend, and newsletters.

4. Information sessions or presentations: Questions, Questions, Questions! Within Residences, Campaigns, Orientation of first years, workshops
