Three years, Mainstream
Four years, full-time (Extended Curriculum Programme). First year subjects offered over two years.
WHAT YOU NEED
Minimum Admission Requirements
National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) with:
• English (4)
• Mathematics (3) or Mathematical Literacy (5)
• Physical Sciences (3)
• Life Sciences (4) or Geography (4)
• Any two other subjects (3) except Life Orientation
The department utilises an Academic Point Score (APS) as selection criteria once your minimum admission requirements are satisfied. You also have to score a minimum of 28 with Mathematics; 29 with Technical Maths; and 30 with Mathematical Literacy on the APS for the mainstream. Extended Curriculum Programme (ECP): 26 with Mathematics; 27 with Technical Maths; and 28 with Mathematical Literacy.
Note: Meeting minimum admission requirements does not guarantee admission. Subject to space, students may be admitted to the ECP if they have at least 40% (3) for Mathematics, 60% (5) for Maths Literacy and 50% (4) for Technical Maths; 50% (4) for Geography or Life Sciences; and any other 2 subjects at 40% (3) except Life Orientation.

Your on-the-job training
