The Extended Curriculum Programme (ECP) presents an opportunity for students to transition into higher education at a measured and tailored pace. ECP presents an excellent option for students who do not meet the minimum admission requirements for the mainstream Diploma, and for any student desiring an individualised teaching and learning process.

WHAT YOU NEED Minimum Admission Requirements National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) with: • English First Language (4) (50–59%) • Mathematics (4) (50–59%) or Technical Mathematics (5) • Physical Science (4) (50–59%) or Technical Science (5) (≥ 60%) OR • A rating of 3 (45–49%) in either Physical Science or Mathematics, with the other at a rating of 4: Physical Science 4 (50–59%) or Mathematics 4 (50–59%).

The department utilises an Admission Point Score (APS) as selection criteria once your minimum admission requirements are satisfied. You have to score a minimum of 27–29 for the Extended Curriculum Programme (ECP)

NB: Mathematics Literacy is not accepted in the Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment for Engineering qualifications, except where specifically indicated for non-Engineering qualifications.
