WHAT YOU NEED

Minimum Admission Requirements

National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) with:

• English (4)

• Mathematics (2) or Mathematical Literacy (4)

• And one of the following: Business Economics, Economics, Accounting, Consumer Studies or Information Technology

The department utilises an Admissions Point Score (APS) as selection criteria once your minimum admission requirements are satisfied. You also have to score a minimum of 24 with Mathematics and 26 with Mathematical Literacy on the APS.

ECP: For the Extended Curriculum Programme, first-year subjects of the Diploma will be spread over two years, giving students a more supportive academic environment. Once the two-year programme is completed, you will integrate with the second-year mainstream programme.

Your on-the-job training

You will obtain on-the-job training through service learning from Business Administration in Year One, during Communication in Year Two, and Work Integrated Learning (WIL) for six months in Year Three, during Business and Information Administration Practice. The WIL consists of two components: The work preparedness skills programme; and workplace-based learning or projectbased learning. This will prepare learners for employment regionally, nationally and internationally.
