Studio 1 design portfolio created by Zohra Abbas, Jessica Corns and Deven Kara in conjunction with their 6th years studies for a Masters of Architecture degree at the Manchester School of Architecture.
"Social disconnection is the lack of participation in social activities, and is becoming more common in many societies. This is linked to, but not the same as, social isolation, which is an absence of social contact. Loneliness, or the dissatisfaction with levels of social interaction, can be a symptom of both. These issues can partly be attributed to the built environment and the lack of architecture that encourages interaction between people. We look at the pavilion as an experiment to encourage interaction, between themselves and others but also to the architecture itself."
