CPPI has provided construction services for the Medical Center of Trinity for more than three continuous years. The first project completed at the facility was the Bed Expansion and Observation Unit Addition project. The 59,278 square foot project consisted of the addition of 14 observation positions and support space to the first floor, the vertical expansion of 36 med/surg/tele beds to the fifth floor, and a vertical expansion of shell space to the sixth floor. Following the Bed Expansion and Observation Unit Addition project, the same CPPI project team completed the Women’s Services & Surgical Expansion project. This project encompassed 16,591 square feet of expansion and renovation, including the addition of two operating rooms in the surgical area, eight additional preoperative patient rooms, and an additional C-section room.

This project added 75,477 SF of new space to North Florida Regional Medical Center’s South Tower. The project consisted of the addition of three floors atop the south tower of the facility, which added 78 new private patient rooms. The makeup of specialties for the rooms includes a new Intensive Care Unit, a new Postpartum and Antepartum Care Unit, an Orthopedic Unit, and a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Also included in the project scope was an additional 8,619 SF of renovations that transformed the space into a new Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The unit added 13 new beds, opening up the ability for Level 2 and 3 neonatal care over a total of 25 beds. The renovation also added a new nurse’s station and additional support space.

This project included a 101,435 square foot vertical tower expansion that added four floors over the top of the center’s existing emergency department, giving the facility a total of five stories. The second floor will be used as mechanical / shell space, while the third and fourth floors have new 24-bed medical and surgical patient room units.

The fifth floor provides shell space for future buildout opportunities.

This project consisted of the construction of a new 29,078 square foot space that connects the existing Emergency Department and renovations of 13,451 square feet of existing space at Health Central Hospital. The project includes a new 4-story patient tower above the new ED space. The new spaces required infrastructure upgrades to the existing Central Energy Plant. Upgrades included new paralleling gear, chillers, cooling towers and pumps.

The Patient Tower Addition and Renovations project consisted of a new 4-story, 92 bed patient tower. The first floor contains shell space and covered parking for doctors, while the second, third, and fourth floors all contain med surg beds.

Additionally, the third floor features a Level II NICU containing a HUGS system which provides extra protection for infant patients.

In addition to the new tower, the project incorporated a three-level horizontal expansion to the Women’s Center parking garage adding 98 spaces and renovations to the 1st Floor Cardiology Department, including the addition of a cath lab and the relocation of Non-Invasive Cardiology, Nuclear Medicine, and Medical Records.

UF Health’s Springhill Primary Care Building project consisted of the new construction of a three-story building of approximately 70,500 SF. The facility includes clinics for family medicine, internal medicine, pain medicine, child and adolescent psychiatry and medical psychology, a flexible “condo clinic” for future use, a retail pharmacy, and a blood draw area. The exam room sizing and configuration are modular to allow flexibility for future uses, while providing ample space for standard amenities.

The presence of ancillary spaces, such as the pharmacy in the primary care building and diagnostic imaging services in the multi-specialty clinic, allow patients to fill all their health treatment needs without leaving the campus. Also included in the project was the construction of a two-story 69,881 SF parking garage with 226 spaces.

Additional components of the project included cosmetic upgrades to the 2nd and 3rd floors of the existing patient tower, a cosmetic upgrade of the exterior envelope, and the addition of a 64-car parking lot.

This project consisted of the build-out of the entire 11th floor shell space in the North Tower at Orlando Regional Medical Center. The space provided 32 new patient rooms along with two Nurses’ Stations, staff locker room, meds rooms, exam room, nourishment rooms, team rooms, storage rooms, offices and other administrative rooms. Of the 32 rooms, 16 were bariatric rooms equipped to accommodate the treatment, patient handling, and movement of bariatric patients. Four of the rooms were negatively pressured isolation inpatient rooms with unique requirements. The project required extensive plumbing modification work on the occupied patient floor below for the 11th’s utility infrastructure. This work required extensive planning, containment, and noise control in order to ensure the occupants were not disturbed. The project also included installation of two new AHUs in the 15th floor penthouse.

UF Health joins a growing roster of healthcare systems nationwide bringing leading-edge healthcare services to malls with UF Health The Oaks, a specialty clinic that repurposed a former Sears retail space into a clinical facility.

The 139,000 square-foot clinic houses three specialties: ophthalmology, otolaryngology, and audiology. UF Health has the only ophthalmology practice in the region that covers every subspecialty, including corneal transplants, pediatric ophthalmology, specialty contact lenses, refractive surgery, and low-vision services. It also has state-of-the-art surgical and diagnostic equipment. Additionally, it is the only practice in the region to perform novel procedures such as bionic eye retinal implants, artificial corneas, and miniature telescopes to improve vision loss caused by macular degeneration.

This project consisted of a two-phased renovation to the existing 4th Floor of the NFRMC Patient Tower. The first phase of the project renovation both the north and west wings as well as the center core area to create a new Behavioral Health Unit. The second phase of this project consisted of a renovation that created 13 behavioral health patient rooms and renovated support spaces. This project added an activity room and seclusion room, as well as the replacement of a large air handler unit, and occurred adjacent to a fully functional behavioral health unit.

The new 18,200 SF space features indoor and outdoor dining, cafeteria and kitchen. Featuring expanded food selections with ample serving bars, patients now have a “you choose” style menu that promotes healthy eating choices offering gluten-free, diabetic and vegetarian options.

This 23,500 square foot surgical facility provides patients with all of their eye and ENT needs met in one location. The facility features a family consult room, a waiting room, five operating rooms, and 19 pre-op and post-anesthesia care units. Radiology services, including full MRIs, X-rays and CT scans, are all available on-site.

CPPI was the construction manager for the renovation and expansion of the inpatient geriatric behavioral health unit. This project consisted of the select demolition and renovation of 10,570 SF on the third floor of Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, FL, to create a new inpatient geriatric psychiatric specialized care for older adults. The new 14-bed inpatient geriatric behavioral health unit offers a caring, compassionate and comprehensive approach to diagnosing and treating behavioral health disorders in older adults.

This project consisted of the construction of a new 17,635 SF Outpatient Oncology Center for Sarasota Memorial Hospital at their University Parkway location. Services include radiation oncology, imaging, and clinical services related to oncology treatment. Within the center of the facility are two linear accelerators with direct access from a spa-like private patient dressing and gender-specific subwait areas; a CT simulator for radiation therapy; six exam rooms; physician offices; and an integrative care suite for patient navigation and counseling. Patients, families and staff also are provided with the opportunity to physically access the outdoors. At the end of the lobby space are direct views to a ceremonial water feature with a backdrop of a natural wooded area beyond. A patio around the water feature was created to allow those visiting the space a place for respite and reflection.

The Cancer Center at North Florida Regional Medical Center is a 31,000 square foot facility located on the North Florida healthcare campus. This high end design encourages a relaxing and healing environment to better treat patients.

The Cancer Center encompasses the mind, body, and soul approach with pleasing aesthetics for total patient comfort and relaxation. Special features include four concrete vaults with radiation shielding protection. The facility also houses two LINAC suites and a cyber-knife suite.

This project renovated the existing MOB 3 building, located on the Orange Park Medical Center main campus to provide a new rehabilitation facility that serves patients in need of serious physical recovery. Renovation of the existing metal building required a complete removal of all interior walls, ceilings, windows, doors, slab, etc. down to the bare structural support members and block exterior walls.

The Refuge’s new facility houses four doctors’ offices, two counseling offices, two exam rooms, one lab room, one massage room, one quiet room, one noisy activity room, six patient rooms, a staff break room, a nurses station, and three medical dispensing counters with a waiting area.

The new space allows The Refuge to house patients while they are undergoing detox treatment, prior to their transition to the property’s standard cabin housing. Before construction of the detox facility, detoxing patients did not have separate housing onsite. CPPI constructed the detox facility with special considerations for trauma patients who may be experiencing emotional or psychological distress. Specialty fixtures and security screws were installed throughout all patient areas to ensure patient safety at all times. The building was constructed with structural metal framing and steel construction on a monolithic slab foundation.

This project consisted of the renovation of West Florida Hospital’s fifth floor Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and pediatric wing. The PICU renovation created new 6-bed unit on the existing fifth floor. The space underwent a full renovation, including new walls, ceiling, flooring, and bathroom locations.

Renovation of the space also included a new roof top unit (RTU) on the roof of the hospital’s Southwest Patient Wing, feeding the second through fifth floors. The pediatric wing renovations provided cosmetic upgrades and add four additional patient rooms to the existing wing.
