This deck contains reference information intended to aid in the process of creating your Pride displays. This display is part of a series in correlation with our system-wide National Awareness Months campaign. Continue further for information on how to prioritize your Pride displays during Discover Summer with visual positions (page 4).
All display renderings are guidelines and not strict representations of what needs to be executed. Think of them as starting points to adapt or build upon.
If you have questions or concerns about a specific topic, please reach out to the contacts on the cover page.
(For Internal Use Only)
• The Pride display launches simultaneously with Discover Summer, when AAPI Heritage Month ends. These can easily transition by replacing any signage and refreshing the materials.
• Pride displays should take an A-location within the branch (V1/V2). Discover Summer should follow directly behind or nearby (V1/V2), as well as (C1) in Children’s. Please refer to the Discover Summer Install Deck for more information. Please remember all National Awareness Month displays should be prominently displayed within every branch. This will ensure equal representation throughout the year.
• For more information on Visual Positions and the VM Calendar, please refer to the Visual Merchandising homepage in Rufus. Both are further explained in this document.
• Bibliocommons lists are available from MSA. (see page 5)
• If there are any questions on how to prioritize or determine visual positions within displays, please reach out to Chris Keegan.
VM Suggestions:
• Even if there are little to no materials at your branch, please create a display with any relevant materials by using these suggestions from MSA.
• While the purpose of our displays is providing materials for customers to check out, these displays are meant to spread awareness and show representation. Therefore, we can at least promote our systemwide event alongside a curated selection of materials.

VM Positions Example
Discover Summer should live directly behind or near Pride (separate fixtures)
- The main display should include one of the promotional display signs. This display can either be on a table surface or within shelving. Ensure the sign is easily seen and focal within the display.
- For more tips & tricks, or help with low quantities of materials please refer to pages 4 and 5.
- Using our VM foundations and principles, feel free to animate Pride at your branch!
- Here are some examples of visually impactful, colorized displays.
- The VM Team will upload photos of these displays!
