BJ Campbell Team Roping is excited to welcome you all to our 2ND ANNUAL THE ROPE HORSE SALE, PROSPECTS AND MORE!... held at The Flying E Ranch in Wickenburg, AZ. Our goal is to present a quality selection of good rope horses from started to finished that will meet the needs of serious competitors at all levels – weekend warriors, beginner to open caliber ropers, ranchers, pleasure riders and everything in between. We are proud to offer this wide varitety of good rope horses to the public during the heat of the team roping season in the heart of it all, Wickenburg, AZ, the team roping capital of the world.

We are blessed again this year to have auctioneer Wade Shaw, by recommendation of Steve Friskup, his ring men and www.hnfauctions.com. Join us for an authentic, action-packed day of previewing, buying and selling 72 head of real rope horses for real people.

Owners and producers of The Rope Horse Sale, LLC, BJ & Heather Campbell, have been in the rope horse industry for many years. Separately and then joining forces in 2009 they have bought, sold and brokered many successful quality rope and performance horses to all levels of ropers all over the country. BJ is a 3X NFR Qualifier and is well known for his horsemanship and training abilities. Each has been horseback since before they could walk, and they’ve known each other since their late teens. Heather has always been an avid team roper and plans to pursue roping more than she ever has in 2023. Their joint passion is horses, roping, and rodeo. BJ and Heather work side by side every day with daughter, Even Grace Campbell, training and selling rope horses at their beautiful home in Salome, AZ. In late 2022, the Campbells chose to step away from producing roping events in Wickenburg to focus more on their own roping goals.

The Rope Horse Sale preview will start at 9 a.m., Saturday, January 28, 2023. The preview will include team roping, calf/breakaway roping, ranch branding, barrels, and Smarty-Heel-O-Matic sale horse demonstration. The Rope Horse Sale will start at 3 p.m.

Please remember that many of these rope horses are in Arizona for the winter or will be in Arizona days before the sale. We encourage prospec tive buyers to make contact with the consignors to pre-inspect horses or to watch them work at the local jackpots.

The Rope Horse Sale Terms & Conditions

Any participation in The Rope Horse Sale LLC as buyer, consignor, or bidder binds you to the agreement of these Terms and Conditions whether you read and understand them or not.

The Rope Horse Sale LLC, its associates and the auctioneers’ function is to bring the buyer and seller together for the purpose of completing the sale of a specified horse and are in no way responsible for buyer/seller error or misunder standing. The Rope Horse Sale LLC acts as a selling agency only and are not responsible for any liability whatsoever, including, but not limited to, the loss, damage, injury, death or illness of any horse, person or property before, during or after the sale.

All horses in this sale are required to have negative Coggins Test and valid Health Certificate upon check-in.

All horses are sold “AS IS”. There is no warranty expressed or implied by The Rope Horse Sale LLC or any representative as to the performing soundness, condition, merchantability or fitness for any particular purpose of any horse offered in the sale, other than those made specifically by the seller. All guarantees are strictly between the buyer and seller. Right of recourse must be made directly to the seller.

Prospective Buyers are encouraged to pre-in spect and are cautioned to carefully examine any horses thoroughly before bidding or purchasing! Do your due diligence!

The Rope Horse Sale LLC and its affiliates are not responsible for misrepresentations of horses in marketing, including, but not limited to, verbal, digital, and print. The sales management and auctioneers are not responsible for error of omissions and assumes no liability on its part as to any statements verbal or written regarding horses sold. Pay close attention to announce ments made from the auction block as they take precedence over printed material.

The commission will be eight percent (8%) of the selling price. Every horse in the sale catalog must pass through the sale ring and all monies pass through the office. No alley trading is allowed.

Every horse sells to the highest bidder with auctioneer settling any and all bid disputes as he sees fit, and the decisions shall be final. The auctioneer reserves the right to reject any or all bids.

All pass-outs or no sales must be declared as soon as the gavel drops, before the horse leaves the sale ring. Once horse leaves the sale ring all sales are final.

Title transfers immediately to the buyer at the final winning bid and drop of hammer. Title transfer includes all risk of loss including but not limited to illness, injury or death of the horse. Additionally, at title transfer, the buyer assumes all responsibility for the care and maintenance of the horse, for any loss or damage to property and for injury or death of persons caused by the horse, buyer or buyer’s employees. Additionally,

the buyer agrees to hold harmless The Rope Horse LLC for such loss or damage. We highly recommend that buyers protect their investments and obtain Full Mortality Equine Insurance on horses immediately after purchase, however, this decision and risk rest solely with the buyer. Equine Insurance Specialist, Lacey Parsons, will be on-site to help with your insurance choices and to get your policy in place.

All prospective buyers must register with picture identification and receive a buyer’s number to bid. Bank references should be furnished. Acceptable payment for sale purchase is cash, personal or business check, credit/debit card (3% convenience fee), or a bank wire. US Funds Only. Issuing a check with insufficient funds is a felony and will be handled as such. Payment in full must be made to “The Rope Horse Sale LLC” during or immediately after the sale. No exceptions.

All horses MUST be paid for day of sale. Seller shall not release a horse to a Buyer until Buyer has made full payment for the horse and funds have been verified. Buyer is responsible to check registration and additional paperwork at time of settlement.

Transportation, hauling and care of sold horses is strictly between buyer and seller.

Persons attending this sale do so at their own risk. Neither the owners or any other person connected with the sale assumes any liability, legal or otherwise for accidents to persons or property, before, during or after the sale.

‘Tubbs’ is gentle and a nice switch ender. He is super easy to work with and very easy on the eyes. He is laid back and fun to ride outside. Tubbs is ready to continue winning in the team roping and breakaway. He is good on slow and fast steers. You can ask him to speed up or slow down and that’s why we believe he will fit most ropers. I might not be the biggest fan of paint horses but this gelding has won me over! ‘Heartbreaker’ has a lot of look and ability. He’s been ranched on a bunch and is making a real sweet head horse. He’s doing well on the heel side and we’ve break awayed some on him too. He has plenty of speed and a natural big stop. This gelding is very gentle, rides around really broke, is smooth moving and has a sweet disposition. He needs to go to a guy or gal wanting a nice rope horse, he has all the tools it takes to finish out as a good one. It would be a shame to let him go to waste as a trail horse. Heartbreaker has incredible bone and feet and should easily last someone a lifetime. If you want a standout gelding with unique color and plenty of athletic ability, here he is. ‘Hot Pocket’ is a beautiful copper penny sorrel head horse. He is exceptionally soft in the bridle. He will spin low to the ground with a stationary rear pivot foot, crossing over in the front with moderate to fast speed. Hot Pocket has a beautiful slide stop and would easily make a calf roping or breakaway horse. Although he has lots of athletic ability, he is great with low numbered ropers. He leaves the box flat, stays down on the ground, will rate and stay with the steer as long as you need to set your heeler up with a nice handle. Hot Pocket can also step it up and be very aggressive for a higher # roper that’s roping sharp. He truly is a one-of-a-kind head horse, with reining skills, and tons of ability that’s easy to ride. ‘Raysin’ is definitely going to raise the bar no matter what direction you take him in! He is a gorgeous young 5-year-old gelding that has a big future ahead of him, he wants to work. ‘Money’ is one of the fastest, smoothest travelling and gentle head horses I have had the pleasure of riding. He is a grandson of Frenchmans Guy and a son of Guys French Jet (NFR qualifier in the barrel racing). Money has the look and conformation to last. He scores great, outstanding in the box, breaks flat across the line, can really run, rates, handles cattle and can face. He has won money at the slide ropings and was rode at the Cervi pre ropings in 2022. Money loads, hauls, stands tied, does all that is required of a good rope horse. He hasn’t had his wheels hauled off, he has just began his successful roping career. Money was trained by pro rodeo cowboy and well known horseman that trains some of the top calf horses in rodeo today. Additionally, lots of quality time has been spent on him gathering cattle out on the prairie as well as dragging calves to the branding pot. Here’s your chance to own a once in a lifetime horse! Not only will he turn heads, but he is a natural athlete and has the mind of a veteran horse. FOX ‘Fox’ is a kind, friendly horse. Easy to catch and happy to see you every day. Fox has had kids roping on him in the practice pen and at many ropings. “Booney” is a nice 2019 gelding by the great Boon Too Suen. He has been in training with Walt Bowen Cutting Horses from the beginning of his two-year-old year. Here is a very nice 9-year-old, homeraised sorrel gelding. ‘Nibbs’ as we like to call him, is by our great stallion that is a son of Peptoboonsmal and out of a proven Bob Acre Doc/Grays Starlight mare that has numerous money winning offspring in the performance horse world. We showed him in the Snaffle Bit Futurity as a 3-year-old and as a 5-year-old in the Head Horse Futurity. He’s covered many a miles on the ranch from checking cow calf pairs to hours spent in the branding pen. ‘Shinner’ is a big, stout, beautiful 7-year-old sorrel gelding standing 15.1HH. If you are looking for a head horse to go win on, he is the one. He scores so good and will not get out ran. He has a big pretty move and a huge, fancy face. This gelding will take you to the pay window at any level of roping. He can really move his feet and has lots of run but very controllable and in your hand type of horse. He has been hauled to jackpots ranging from the #10 ropings to the #15’s. This is a real fancy broke mare with an even fancier set of papers! She was started as a cutter and is a seasoned, finished heel horse. She runs hard and has a lot of cow and try. This little mare is dynamite in a small package, she is very strong to the horn. She has been hauled to jackpots, WSTR, and US ropings. She’s gentle and sound. She has a little scar on her left hind – it does not bother her at all! She never gets fresh and can stay turned out. ‘Snippish’ is a 2014 model sorrel gelding sired out by Hottish. Snippish is a finished heel horse that’s ready to up your game. Originally a cutter through his 4-year-old year, he now has all the cow, run and stop for any caliber of roper. I believe he’s best suited for a #6 roper and above due to his athletic abilities. He has the speed and ability for the open ropings but has been ridden all the way down to the #8. Be ready for his stop because he does know how to drag it. He’s strong to the horn, catty and broke correctly. He’s been hauled and has no issues with new environments. Just like all the good ones, he can be watchy on the ground but overall has a great mind. He’s never pulled back or been dangerous and he is my go to horse for my family to ride. He’s very loving and wants all the attention. Hauls great and is UTD on teeth and vaccines. We believe this horse will take any level of roper to the pay window.

This 5-year-old gelding was used on a large cattle lease this summer and was rode a lot of miles, plenty of wet saddle blankets. He is outstanding to ride outside alone or with a group. Take him down the trail and enjoy every minute of it. We’ve started him in the arena heading steers and he is making a really nice horse.
