Boca do Lobo A Fascinating and Memorable Creation - Casa Décor Madrid, Portuguese Embassy in Madrid Held in Casa Décor Madrid Portuguese Embassy in Madrid, it all started with a challenge that was brought up by AICEP to the Spanish interior designer Pepe Leal. After taking it, Pepe´s main goal was to break up with the conceived idea that Portugal is old fashioned and rustic, highlighting the fact that it is a country where tradition and topicality go along with peace and quality.

From the ceilings, passing through the walls and floor, until the décor itself, each and every detail came from Portugal in the creation of a Lusitano Corner.

Pepe Leal is the protagonist in the conception of this project. Passionate for our country, he is one of the most renowned Interior Designers in Spain. He considers Portugal to be “sophisticated and elegant” and believes that extraordinary things are made here, things that people from Spain are not aware of.

He carefully selected Portuguese historic and significant materials, like cork, blue tiles and pink marble, so that he would be able to reflect perfectly the Portuguese culture and the kind of furniture that has been made in Portugal.

The rich handcrafted Portuguese tradition walks hand in hand with the modern design of its industry in this Pepe Leal´s creation. The display puts together various atmospheres towards a greater chance to show a wider variety of products. A perfect and glamorous fusion between traditional and contemporary reflects exactly what Portugal represents in this industry nowadays. The interior of this Luxury Italian Countryside Residence is an exquisite combination of classic and contemporary style.

In this private Italian Residence, developed by Ukrainian interior designers Vitaliy Yurov and Iryna Dzhemesiuk, you can feel the airiness of the space through bright and vivid colors. Modern furniture and unique lamps with classic techniques are used to tell a history and mark the passage of time and innovation that turns this apartment into an incomparable interior design master piece.

Artistic intarsia design of the parquet, golden pieces of modern furniture and high class design lamps make unimaginable and unexpected details in combination with the beautiful old architecture of the space and the vaulted ceiling creates a unique and unforgettable atmosphere.

As we step into the different rooms we see the love that designers brought into the project.

With furniture brands like Minotti, Poltrona Frau, Kristalia, Amuneal shelving system is easy to imagine the precision and challenge that designers took under their ”wings”.

The young and dinamic duo of designers chose lighting from DelightFULL, Flos and Hive.

Near the fireplace we can see Hanna Floor Lamp and in the ceiling of the recreational space the combination with Hanna Pendant Lamp gives it a unique style.

In the dinning are we can enjoy the warmth color with the art work and once more the dominance of the lamps with the two Brubeck Suspension Lamps combined with Brubeck Wall Lamps that we can also see in the Bathroom area together with DelightFULL sister brands Maison Valetina and Boca do Lobo as and extenton of extreme luxury.

“Interaction with the client is very important. We usually work in contemporary styles such as minimalism, loft, eclecticism. Based on this the client comes to us for these stylistic directions. Our goal is to make not just a beautiful picture but also a comfortable space for each specific customer considering his lifestyle, habits etc. Before we begin to develop the project we discuss and carefully explore our client’s wishes, his action scenario in the space. During each stage we keep a close relationship with him. We have one common goal, and we both are interested in getting a good result.”

Aesthetics and functionality are inseparable. We like to combine different styles, forms and materials. It is a contemporary style in which we often use techniques from different ages.”

BRABBU Featured In The New Moongata Showroom A new impressive showroom opened in the heart of Barrio de Las Letras, in Madrid, Spain: MOONGATA Showroom.

BRABBU was one of the international brands whose pieces were chosen for the unique showroom. Coming from “mångata”, a word that is very present in the Swedish literature and poetry - which means the path of light that the moon reflects in the water - it was founded by José Usero and Alfredo Díaz.

The intention was to create a space capable of offering an exclusive selection of decoration and furniture design pieces with soul and character. Each and every piece tells something different and special to each and every client who walks through the door. More than a showroom, it is an inspirational art gallery. Featured in the MOONGATA showroom are MALAY Armchair, a graceful green velvet armchair with a mystical soul, COMO Sofa, a tribute to natural beauty, and ZULU Sofa, a mid century modern furniture piece, all designed by BRABBU. KOKET Goes - Ethnic Chic A charming Amsterdam canal house is transformed by the designers at Ethnic Chic using KOKET pieces Imagine strolling along Amsterdam’s picturesque streets; old bridges create pathways through canal waters lined with charming row houses. It is in one of these attractive row houses where Robin Toetenel and Ingrid Steyrer, the design duo forming Ethnic Chic, revamped an empty house into a warm and sophisticated space while incorporating some KOKET pieces into the design. The result is a truly stunning canal house, full of custom furniture, lavish fabrics and -nishes and quality craftsmanship.

Ethnic Chic was originally opened in 2004 as a boutique in the heart of Amsterdam, selling unique and compelling home décor. After many requests for interior design projects, Toetenel and his ¬rst business partner began dabbling in interior design, and thus a designer was born. The canal house project was worked on day and night to be completed within the 3-week timeframe. Custom furniture was own in from all over the world to add cultural soul and character to the space, challenging the designers to ¬nd new products and brands.

One of these exclusive brands is KOKET, whose tempting pieces are seen in the bedroom and living room designs of the canal house.

The living room shape has grand ceilings and large windows which the designers used to their advantage. Decorated in tones of aubergine, the designers placed two matching Burlesque consoles on either side of the living room’s marble ¬replace. The luxury console table’s acrobatic polished brass hoops of the base, paired with exotic reptile embossed velvet, added the spice the designers were looking for.

“The living room with a grandeur high ceilings and view on the canals, there could not be a better twist then the two crazy Koket consoles we proposed for this project,” said Toetenel. “It really turned the whole living room around from being a beautiful setting to a place with a twist and character. I like that in specific pieces to have that kind of feeling. To add a bit of spice while playing it on the edge. It certainly worked for this project!”

The bedroom’s darker touches and rich ¬nishes scream vintage Hollywood boudoir, and no boudoir is complete without a resting chaise. KOKET’s Envy chaise makes an opulent statement in the bedroom design, with soft button tufting and sleek polished brass feet. Above the bed, a Vivre 2-Ring chandelier casts a sultry glow, with the light shining behind 19 genuine agate slices. An edgy “indoor garden” kitchen room portrays a funkier vintage Hollywood vibe with faux bamboo chairs and tropical banana leaf, hand printed wallpaper.

With the short timeline, Ethnic Chic managed to pull o the challenge of meeting the client’s needs while designing a remarkably cohesive space, which is something they pride themselves on. With another noteworthy project under their belt, the designers of Ethnic Chic have already moved onto the next challenge, where they are sure to rise to the occasion.

- Covet House – NEW DREAMY DESIGN HOUSE In the Heart of the Douro Designed to be a “new experience for design lovers”, the Covet House is a place specially conceived for professionals of the interior design world.

Located on the Douro River bank, 15 minutes from Porto’s historical centre, the COVET HOUSE is a traditionally built manor, filled with remarkable architectural details that hold the glory from a noble past. Its interior, projected by Covet Lounge, features furniture pieces from some of the world’s most recognized and prestigious furniture and lighting brands - Boca do Lobo, DelightFULL, Brabbu, Koket, Essential Home, Maison Valentina, Circu and Luxxu.

The COVET HOUSE is adorned with an unbelievable view over the River, and its Southern facing front ensures a full day of splendid sunlight. It’s easy to get lost in the landscape over the river, and looking around, details jump insight.

With a gorgeous swimming pool for long dives and an amazing space to take long sunbathing, this house looks fresh, eclectic and playful, perfect to enjoy life. Still, outside the house, it’s possible to see a beautiful and antique chapel, which is an integral part of the house that clearly shows a Catholic past, very characteristic of the Portuguese people and, in the garden, wide cages with beautiful peacocks inside gives an exotic and luxurious atmosphere.

Walking inside the house it’s possible to understand how stunning the mixture of styles is: vintage pieces with modern elements, soft with strong, feminine with masculine – all together. Living and dining rooms are common and it’s possible to see a charming fireplace with a big and luxurious chandelier and two beautiful and velvety sofas and several charming corners filled with details and charming pieces. In the dining room, a huge table is on the center flanked by comfortable and inviting chairs. It feels homey but luxurious and artistic at the same time with many gold pieces, to make the decor somewhat precious, like a gem, and to add a touch of femininity—like a spark. Gold makes things more exciting!

The impact is augmented by the floor to ceiling windows, where the sun gets in and afford a relaxing and sunny atmosphere to these divisions. Soaring and ornamented ceilings and superb proportions create an artfully balanced with the entire appointments of the house. Even, on the first floor, there is a large and light kitchen, great to prepare incredible banquets and to really enjoy this beautiful place. Upstairs, each of the four bedrooms has a specific theme and are furnished with one brand in mind.

Each bedroom has a different concept, a different sensation. Thinking about renovating the concept of master bedroom, Boca do Lobo brought out a whole new concept to the suite. Black and gold are the colors that stand out in the different pieces that match up together bringing a luxury and seductive ambience into the bedroom. Gold leaf and black lacquer are the main materials in the room, mixed put with details such as insects and brass handmade nails.

With a perfect retro universe, Essential Home Suite in partnership with DelightFULL created another bedroom full of sleek lines presenting the knurled details on the walnut sideboard and the modern dressing table enhanced by the classic elegance of the irregular shades of the marble table lamp. Looking closely, you can almost see Greta applying powder in from of the mirrors.

And because there is a story behind everything, getting inside of BRABBU’s suite you can tell that the story has Nature as its main character and its written by the materials, textures and colors of some of the most interesting places around the world and it’s possible to feel it just for the very first moment we look at SEQUOIA side table, a nature force, an ancient spirit belonging to the largest and tallest trees in the world. All of this is a mixture of senses. Inspired by the warmth of tropical atmosphere CASSIS wood sideboard is the touch of nature that every space needs and it could not miss on this bedroom.

To create a live and bright ambience in the suite, BRABBU travelled to Kiribati islands surrounded by the depths of the Pacific Ocean. It’s the beauty of the coral that makes NIKU floor a rarity in contemporary lighting. This desire to keep discovering cultures led our designers to Myanmar in Asia to create the KAYAN mirror the complement for creating an exotic touch in this modern suite.

Coming out for a bedroom and peeking to another, it’s possible to see sensual lines and a feminine concept. The luxury design brand Koket, known for their empowering and dramatic statement pieces, conceived two luxury rooms so guests can feel Koket’s opulent lifestyle.

The KOKET’s bedroom suite is designed as the perfect bedroom set. The airy space features the Kelly bed, covered in an indulgent lazer rabbit throw, skirted by two Art Deco Tamara nightstands. The nightstands are topped with two pink Gem table lamps for an ambient glow, and an Eternity sculpture hangs nearby shimmering in the soft light. At the end of the bed sit two black and gold Mandy stools, completing this gorgeous bedroom set.

Across the little corridor, a private living room comes alive in shades of black and gold in glamorous present-day luxe. The majestic Heive Armoire pairing with the voluptuous Caprichosa sofa, the big ceiling to floor window and a big size Buddha statue, give to the private living room the perfect quest for Zen and relaxation.

The Covet House represents part of Portugal’s culture and history and a perfect match with the country’s strongest design group with a 10-year legacy. It’s an anthem to the upcoming future and a tribute to those who helped along the journey. Ultimately, it is a place to celebrate design with friends.
