It’s 2021 and Freshwater Village, the petite and popular beach suburb between Curl Curl and Manly, is finally having its revival. From high-end fashion boutiques and wholefood cafes, to art stores and Australia’s first non-alcoholic bottle shop, there is plenty to get excited about. Picture early morning visits to the bakeries, fresh coffee on almost every corner, and endless options for great food, and you’ll quickly understand why 2096 is thriving again. The truth is there aren’t many places between Manly and Palm Beach where you have everything from rock climbing and pilates, to massage, multiple hair salons, gift shops, jewellery stores, and a chic florist, to Thai, Sushi, Indian, Mexican and a new pizza place, plus fish and chips, chicken and chips, and a trendy barber, all within a 200m stretch. While Freshie has always been known for its quaint, beach-side vibe and special community focus, there is an infectious new buzz making its way down Lawrence Street. Next time you’re in the area, spend a few hours meandering down the high street. Grab a Mushroom Hot Chocolate at Veda, pick up a bottle of Noughty at Sans Drinks, check out surf sentiments at Keel, or grab brunch, lunch or dinner with a friend. And if it’s Sunday morning, you can ease your way into the end of the weekend at the The Organic Scarecrow Market.

We’ll see you there. 26
