Imagine watching TV for your job. That’s the dream, right? For Production Intern and rising senior at Williams College, Sonya Mital, it’s just another day at the office.

“I’ll watch rough cuts of a show and take notes for future episodes,” she said. “It’s really fun. I get to watch TV at work.” Another facet of Sonya’s internship is doing research for a long term project about competitive viewing where she studies what makes a viewer watch a show and which parts make it compelling. Everyone works hard.” Sonya believes the hardworking mentality of staffers at the Channel sets National Geographic apart from other brands. “Everything is so well researched and tailored,” she notes. “It really makes a difference because it lends itself to the brand as a whole, because people trust it to be truthful, honest, and real.”

Nat Geo’s high standard for its content is what attracted Sonya to the company. “I was looking for a place that has a name but is responsible for really good content,” she said. “National Geographic was the perfect example of that because all of their content is rooted in truth and honesty.
