The Gooding Chamber of Commerce will hold their regular noon time monthly meeting at a new location this Thursday, the old Lincoln Inn. The meeting will be followed by a ribbon cutting ceremony for Gooding’s newest business. In July, the Cunningham family took over the Lincoln Inn and renamed it the Cowboy Inn & Saloon. This Thursday, September 17th, they will hold their Grand Opening starting at 1 p.m. Jeanine Cunningham has been cooking at various restarants for years, including the famous Triangle Dinner House in Sweet, Idaho.

A Blast on the Grass

Do you have old photos, newspaper or documents from the WWII years? Here is your chance to put them to good use. The National Park Service is working on an exciting new project to plan and reconstruct one of the 1940’s ball field from the Minidoka camp, known locally as Hunt Camp. The Minidoka National Historic Site is interested in hearing stories and seeing photos of baseball at the Camp. Images are needed to understand what the ball fields at the Camp looked like. Some local men have shared stories about how they snuck into the camp(!) to play ball. Local residents have stopped by to tell the park they know community members have images of the site in their attics or stored someplace else in boxes. This is a chance to do a scavenger hunt and find some images and share the stories. Baseball and softball were played at the Camp from 1942 thru 1945. Little League, High school teams, as well as the semi-pro continued on page 3.....
