The 2015 Lost N Lava Gathering Trail Ride

The 5th Annual Lost N Lava Trail Ride will be held this weekend, September 11, 12 and 13 at the Barney Ranch in the West Magic area. Lead by Richard and Eric Barney, Lost N Lava Trail Bosses, riders can expect to have a fun weekend while enjoying the sights and sounds of beautiful country. Cowboy and Cowgirls of all ages are planning to attend the 6th Annual Lost N Lava Cowboy Gathering on September 18th, 19th and 20th at the Lincoln County Community Center and Fairgrounds in Shoshone, Idaho. This year’s event features the 2014 Western Music Associations (WMA) Female Artist of the Year, Kristyn Harris from McKinney Texas, 11 Year old Thatch Elmer of Bear River, Wyoming, and 14 year old Brigid Reedy from Boulder Montana. All have been featured at the NationThatch Elmer al Cowboy

Gathering held each year in Elko, Nevada. Free daily performances will take place inside the community center from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Evening concerts begin at 7 p.m. with pre-show beginning at 6:15. Following each night’s concert, a jam session will be held at 2nd Time Around. A Lost N Lava kick-off dinner will be held around the campfire on Thursday, September 17th, starting at 6 p.m. with music, poetry, and potluck food for everyone to enjoy. Saturday Kristyn Harris morning the VFW Post 3001 will host a Community Breakfast between 7:30 and 9:30 a.m. inside the community center. Every Kid In a Park

The Sawtooth National Forest is proud to help launch the Every Kid in a Park program, as part of President Obama’s commitment to protect our nation’s unique outdoor spaces and ensure that every American has the opportunity to visit and enjoy them. Starting today, fourth graders nationwide can visit the new “Every Kid in a Park” website to obtain a pass that provides free access to students and their families to all federallymanaged lands and waters – including national forests, grasslands, wildlife refuges and waters. The pass is valid for the 2015-2016 school year and grants free entry for fourth graders and three accompanying adults (or an entire car for drive-in parks) at more than 2,000 federallymanaged sites. The Sawtooth National Forest does not charge an entrance fee. However, some developed recreation areas on the Forest charge a day use fee. The Every Kid in a Park Pass covers day use fees on the Forest. Other recreational fees, such as those at campgrounds, are continued on page 7.....
