New Fire Restrictions With new fires popping up almost every day, fire restrictions for Southern Idaho have been expanded to include all private, state, national forest, and BLM lands outside incorporated city limits within Ada, Boise, Canyon, Elmore, Gem, Owyhee, Payette, Washington counties, and portions of Idaho, Adams, Valley, Custer, Elmore, Camas and Blaine counties; These fire restrictions prohibite the “building, maintaining, attending or using a fire,” except within a designated recreation site or on privetely owned land if it is within an owner-provided structure. Smoking tobaco is also prohibited except within an enclosed vehicle, building or designated recreation site, or while stopped in an area at least three feet in diameter that is barren or cleared of all flammable materials. LP or LPG stoves are not affected, and propane campfires may be used in an area cleared of flammable material. While there are a few exception to these restrictions, if you’re not sure, DON’T. The Gooding County Parade will roll down Main Street at 7 p.m. lead by this year’s Grand Marshals, John Bryan and his wife Beverly.
