News Camas County Fair

Country Pride, County Wide

Next Tuesday, August 1st, is the deadline to have your Pole & Window displays ready for judging. Local businesses are encouraged to decorate their windows or put up a display to reflect this year’s Fair Theme: Country Pride, County Wide. If you have driven through downtown Fairfield recently, you may wonder how that might work given the construction. While the powerpoles are gone, there is (or will be) plenty of brand new sidewalk to set up displays and to park your chairs for the parade which will take place on Saturday, August 5th. If you have locally grown produce, crafts, painting, photography, etc. bring it in to the American Legion Hall on Wednesday, August 2nd, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It’s okay to show off... a little. August 3rd (Thursday) is Family Night & Bingo in the City Park preceded by the Bike Parade at 5:45 p.m. Kids are invited to the school playground at 5:15 to decorate their bikes for the ride. The 4H Dog Show will be held on Friday, August 4th, at 9 a.m. That evening is the Community Potluck Picnic at 6 p.m. Bring a main dish, salad, or dessert, as well as your own plates and utensils. Lawn chairs and/or blankets are good too. The Camas County 4H Livestock events will take place on Saturday, August 5th, beginning at 8 a.m.
