New Owners for Hagerman’s Snake River Grill
After graduating from the College of Southern Idaho and the Le Cordon Bleu culinary school in Canada, Kirt Martin followed his passion for food and Idaho, and opened the Snake River Grill in 1995. Using his expertise in French cuisine, Chef Kirt has put a unique spin on classic Idaho meals for the last 25 years. Earlier this year, Kirt retired from the restaurant business and sold the Snake River Grill to Bud & Jennifer Reece. The Reece family has been looking for a change in lifestyle that would give them more time with each other, and their four kids. While they have never owned a restaurant before, both Bud & Jennifer love making people happy, and what better way to make people happy than serving them great food. Bud has been cooking since he could lift a spatula, and loves experimenting with different ingredients. When they purchased the Grill in January, they had no idea what kind of frying pan they were jumping into. Just two month later the nation went into lockdown over Covid-19 and their dream was facing its first challenge. Fortunately, they had some extra funds set aside, and they were able to do take-out for customers. The shutdown also afforded them the time to do a major remodel that would have been difficult while the restaurant was open. They have a few more things to do to the building, but they are now open 7 days-a-week from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. (9:30 on Friday & Saturday). For a little while longer, they will close at 2:00 on Mondays to finish remodel projects. Meanwhile, the Snake River Grill will be serving all the burgers, steaks, and fabulous fish you have come to love. -- -- - The Snake River Grill is located at the south end of Hagerman - 611 Frogs Landing. Stop in for a great meal, or call in for take-out (208-8376227). You can order on-line as well by going to their facebook page (click on the About tab).

Hagerman FFA Takes the Classic
On June 13th, the Gooding Fairgrounds hosted the annual Magic Valley Jr. Classic Beef Show. This event is a great opportunity for our young “future farmers” to show their animals and practice for the county fair to be held in August. This year, Hagerman’s FFA group took the prize, including the grand champion Angus steer shown by Joel Knapp. The icing on the top for three of these young people was an announcement that Luke D Bogaard, Abbagayle Coit, and Joel Knapp have been accepted as new junior members of the American Angus Association. Junior members of the Association are eligible to register cattle in the American Angus Association, participate in programs conducted by the National Junior Angus Association, and take part in Association-sponsored shows and other national and regional events. The American Angus Association is the largest beef breed association in the world, with more than 25,000 active adult and junior members. (Visit NJAA.info for more information about the National Junior Angus Association.)
