Primary Election Results The big surprise from the 2012 Primary was the low voter turnout. In years past, 25% to 27% of voter state wide have voted in the primary. This year that percentage was about 23%. District 26 (formerly 25) generally votes well above the state average (30% to 35%), but this year’s voter turnout dropped to around 18%. In local races, both Camas and Gooding County voted incumbent commissioners out of office. In Camas County’s District 1 Commissioner race, Bill Davis garnered 84 votes while his challenger, Barbara McMurdo, received 155 votes. In Gooding County’s District 3 Commissioner race, Terrell Williams lost to Wayne Chandler 696 votes to 490. In Lincoln County, Sheriff Kevin Ellis held on to his position with 429 votes (his challenger, Mike Bright had 220 votes). Roy Hubert also held on to his position as District 3 Commissioner with 409 votes over the 238 vote that went to Betty Peyman. Camas Senior, Katelyn Peterson, took gold in the 300m intermediate hurdles, high jump, long jump and triple jump, to earn 40 points for her team. Also taking gold for Camas was Sophomore, Carlie Strom, in the pole vault. The Richfield girls team only placed 5th in the 1A district meet, but that included three gold finishes from Sasha Kent (senior) who took first place in the 800, 1600, and 3200 meter distance runs. At the 2A District meet, the Gooding girls took a commanding victory, ending the meet with a 40 point lead. They took
