©Spring is a time of year that comes when it wants to.

No one can really assure spring by a date on a calendar. Mother Nature still deals the cards, and it is up to us how we play the hand given to us.
In Western Idaho, one can see Spring has sprung by the curlews arriving on migration and the tractors able to work in the fields. Then again, there are those well planned days that push the reset button with rain or snow.
In Central or Eastern Idaho, one could see Spring is knocking on doors by the sight of muddy roads (as opposed to snow covered). The wood piles are nearing low levels, and of course, the wind is blowing more soil than snow.
The Sandhill cranes usually make a good indication of Spring. This year I thing their food source is still a little under snow, but what do I know about the diet of cranes. They may be color blind and the white fields may look like old wheat fields.
The people of Eastern and Central Idaho usually experience another season called "Sprinter" which is in between Spring and Winter. The tell tale signs of this season have mixed indications which the people of the Treasure Valley don't understand.
