Fiddlers of Idaho

Benefit Dinner & Entertainment

This Saturday, March 28th, the Fiddlers of ho Street). Doors open at 5 p.m. and the Idaho will hold a Benefit Dinner at the War dinner begins at 6:00. Memorial Hall in Gooding (3rd Street & Ida- Special guests this year are the trio “Betty Jane” comprised of Shelby Russell, her sister Sherelle Christensen, and Sherelle’s daughter Grace. Shellby placed in the top five of the “Young Adult” division at the 2014 National Old Time Fiddle contest. Grace, who has been fiddling since the age of 4, is the 2014 Fiddlers of Idaho “Junior-Junior” State Champion. Tickets to the dinner are $20, but seating is limited. Fair Housing Month

In 1968, Title VIII of the Civil Righs Act was passed by congress. In recognition of the 47th anniversary of the Federal Fair Housing Act, Lincoln County enacted a proclamation recognizing “Fair Housing Month.” ~~~ WHEREAS April 2015 marks the 47th anniversary of the passage of Title VIII of the Civil Rights Act of 1968, commonly known as the Federal Fair Housing Act; and WHEREAS the Idaho Human Rights Commission Act has prohibited discrimination in housing since 1969; and WHEREAS equal opportunity for all - regardless of race, color, religion, sex, disability, familial status or national origin - is a fundamental goal of our nation, state and city; and WHEREAS equal access to housing is an important component of this goal - as fundamental as the right to equal education and employment; and WHEREAS housing is a critical component of family and community health and stability and WHEREAS housing choice impacts our children ’s access to education, continued on page 9.....
