Dietrich & Wendell off to State Tournament

Last Wednesday, the Dietrich Boys trounced Rich field to win the Northside Basketball Championship with a score of 80 to 48. After winning the SCIC District Championship, the Wendell boys beat Marsing

(47-31) to earn a spot in this year’s State tournament which begins this Thursday, March 3rd. The 1AD2 tournament will be held at Caldwell High School. Dietrich will face off against Summit Academy at 8:00 p.m. this Thursday. The 1AD2 championship game will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday in the Ford Idaho Center. The 2A tournament will be held at Capital High School. Wendell’s first

game of the tournament will be this Thursday at 6:15 p.m. against Melba. The 2A championship game will also be held on Saturday in the Ford Idaho Center. Game time is 1:40 p.m.

try’ experimental life-saving treatments. Introduced by Representative Melissa Wintrow, this ‘Right to Try’ bill is an effort that will potentially help people extend their lives. This bill also reaffirmed that decisions like this are best made by a patient and their doctor. “People should have the right to try to save their own lives,” said Rep. Melissa Wintrow. “It’s a key belief of mine and of most Idahoans that the government should not have a say in our personal medical decisions,” The bill is now heading to the Idaho Senate.

‘Right to Try’ Bill Passes House

Imagine for a moment that you (or someone you love) have been diagnosed with Lou Gehrig’s Disease (ALS). The 2016 Presidential Primary

Next Tuesday, March 8th, Idaho voters will go to the polls to vote in the Presidental Primary for the Republican and Constitution parties. While there will be 13 names on the Republican ballot (see page 9), only 5 are still officially in the race. That number may be further affected by yesterday’s Super Tuesday results. The Democrats will hold their Presidential County Caucus on March 22nd at the following locations: • Lincoln Co. - TBA • Camas Co. - Rodman Residence, 822 East Hy 20 • Gooding Co. - P&Z Meeting Rm, 145 7th Ave. E. • Blaine Co. W.R. HS Individuals wish to participate in the Democratic Caucus are encouraged to register online at idahodems.org. ---- Also on March 8th, voters in Lincoln and Camas counties will vote on school levies. Shoshone Joint School District #312 (Lincoln and Jerome) is asking for $300,000, and Camas is asking for $50,000.
