Ice Cave Shop Opens Arcade!
Two years ago, the Shoshone Ice Caves opened an in-town location to sell some of the amazing stones they offer at the Ice Caves, 15 miles north of Shoshone. Along with the laundromat in the back, the in-town location also offers vaping supplies for those 21 and older. Earlier this month, they moved things around to make room for Ms. PacMan, darts, the Grabber, and a pool table. The arcade games and gemstones are in the front of the building and accessable to all ages. The vape shop is in the back, behind closed doors, and only available to ages 21 and older! The entrance to the 24 hour laundromat is in the alleyway behind Sinclair.
First Federal Supports Lincoln County Museum
The First Federal Foundation has announced a total of 19 nonprofits, all located in the Magic and Treasure Valleys, will be receiving $51,969 in combined support from the Foundation’s winter grant cycle. Over 50 applications were submitted for consideration during this most recent grant period, the second of the Foundation’s bi-annual funding time frames. The Foundation also made contributions to 16 Southern Idaho-based charitable organizations in July. Overall, during 2023, the First Federal Foundation impacted 35 different non-profits and awarded over $110,000 in support. The Lincoln County Historical Society (one of the non-profits awarded a grant) will be using these fund to build a new entrance awning for the museum building at 112 West B Street. The Historical Society said, "A hugh Thank You to our County Commissioner's and local builder's! With your help we were able to collect all the needed data and submit for this grant." “The Foundation is an incredibly special and unique part of First Fed,” said Valli Nelson, Community Engagement and Events Specialist at First Federal Bank. “As part of my position within the Bank, I work on Foundation-related items daily. This level of involvement allows me to see firsthand the impact the grants have on our communities. We are helping to improve this special place we all call home.” To be selected as a recipient, grant applications must be a capital project and illustrate community impact. Specially, the First Federal Foundation Board analyzes applications for their ability to enhance the wellbeing and quality of life for people who live in the communities served by First Federal Bank.
