VETERANS DAY SERVICE Mountain View Cemetery, Fairfield, Idaho November 11, 2015 at 11:00 a.m.
The public is cordially invited to attend Elmer Miller Post # 19’s annual Veterans Day Service and plaque dedication on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Mountain View Cemetery, Fairfield, Idaho. A ceremony
will be held to honor the veterans. A luncheon following the services will be provided by the American Legion Auxiliary, at the American Legion Hall, the luncheon is open to the public. Come and help us celebrate Veterans Day.
Gooding Senators In Semifinals
Last Friday, the Gooding Senators squeaked by South Fremont with a 34 to 33 win to earn them a place in the semifinals of the State Football Tournament.
The Senator will host Homedale this Friday at 7:00 p.m. Homedale has only lost one game this season to the undefeated Emmett Huskies.
Camas School District Receives Foodservice Grant

Last Thursday, School District #121 announcee that the Camas County School had been chosen by the Idaho Dairy Council (IDC) to receive a Dairy Does Good Foodservice Grant! This grant will allow their food service team to upgrade some kitchen
equipment, specifically the purchase of a high power commercial Waring blender which will benefit students and aid in providing nutritious school meals and snacks. The Dairy Does Good Foodservice Grant is made possible through generous funding from Idaho dairy farm families. The IDC
is a long-time supporter of the National School Lunch and School Breakfast programs, and supports Idaho schools in a variety of ways. The school is looking forward to creating a variety of dairy offerings, which has proven to have excellent health benefits, and helps students succeed in school.

New Owners For Soldier Mountain
After several winters of less than adequate snow, the board of directors for the ski resort north of Fairfield decided to put the business up for sale. In October the offer was posted on the resort’s Facebook page, and while about 2000 people responded, less than a half a dozen were considered serious. On Thursday of last week, it was announced that the resort was sold to Matt and Diane McFerran of Bend, Oregon. Matt McFerran has worked for the last 15 years at Bend Research (a research and development firm for pharmaceutical-delivery technologies). Diane McFerran is a certified pilates instructor and the owner of Move Pilates in Bend. A ski-racing trainer, Mr. McFerran has been dreaming of owning a place like Soldier Mountain for years. The goal now is to move to Fairfield, plow through all the paperwork need to take over the resort, learn all about the equipment on the mountain, and make sure continued on page 8.....
