News Richfield Takes State Volleyball
Last Saturday, the Richfield Tiger Ladies had to play Lighthouse Christian twice to win the 1AD2 Volleyball Championship. In the third round of the tournament Richfield lost the first two set, then came back to win the match 3-2, sending Lighthouse to the second/third place match to play Dietrich. After losing their first game of the tournament, the Dietrich Blue Devils had to win three matches before meeting Lighthouse in a rematch of the district tournament. This time Lighthouse won the match 32 and went on to the championship game against Richfield. With the tight turn around between games, Lighthouse had little time to rest and Richfield took the championship game in three straight sets over Lighthouse Christian.

JOB CORPS is the nation’s oldest and largest federally funded job training and education program for economically disadvantaged youth ages 16 through 24. Established in 1964, Job Corps has trained and educated more than 2 million young people to date, serving approximately 62,000 young adults each year. The Career Development Services System (CDSS) is Job Corps’ approach for providing seamless services to students, including recruitment, education, career training, job assistance, and transitional support services after graduation. Students receive hands-on career training in more than 100 occupational areas including health occupations, construction-related fields, culinary arts, business and technology-related industries. They can also participate in on-the-job training at real work sites through work-based learning opportunities.
