After spending much of of his carreer working for Dean Tire and Automotive in Ketchum, he decided start up his own business in his home town. Open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Ray’s offers oil changes, tire repair, tune-ups, brakes, electrical, A/C, mufflers/exhaust, alignment and front-end repair, and anything else your car or truck might need. General Election ~ November 4th, 2014 This Friday is the last day for in-person absentee/early voting. If you haven’t already done so, or you plan to vote next Tuesday, November 4th, here are some things you need to know. Bring your photo ID: driver’s license or Idaho photo identification card; A U.S. passport or Federal photo identification card; A tribal photo identification card; or a current student photo ID, issued by an Idaho high school or post
secondary education institution. If a voter is not able to show an acceptable ID, the voter will be given the option to sign the Personal Identification Affidavit. Since there are several “Write-in” campaigns in our local elections, be sure you know who you are voting for and how to spell their name (if they are a write-in). Also, be sure to put an “X” in the box next to the name you are voting for (just writing in the name
of a person is not a valid vote). If you are unsure of anything while voting, be sure to ask poll workers for information. They will have a list of qualified write-in candidates which you can use, but you must return it after voting. Last (but certainly not unimportant), be sure to turn your clocks back one hour this Sunday for the end of daylight savings time - no need to be early for everything.
Several recent poaching cases are catching the attention of Facebook users who follow the Citizens Against Poaching page; a trophy mule deer shot before rifle season in Caribou County, two five-point bull elk shot out of season in Owyhee County, five mule deer with backstraps removed; left to waste in Homedale. The list goes on. Some of these cases are stirring a great deal of emotion in wildlife lovers who are angry about these crimes. While social media allows Citizens Against Poaching to expose these cases more effectively, this is not necessarily a sign of an increase in poaching. “With millions of acres of habitat here in Idaho, along with abundant wildlife, people who choose to steal fish and wildlife from the people of Idaho have plenty of opportunity,” said Assistant Chief of Enforcement Chris Wright “Poaching has been a problem here from the day our agency was created 75 years ago.
