News Coffee is Back in Wendell

If you love coffee... Rejoice. The old Pit-Stop building in Wendell is now home to a new drive-thru (and sit down) coffee shop - Latte Da Bistro. For over a year, Kristie

Sutton has been planning to open a coffee shop in Wendell. Originally, she was going to put it in the back parking lot of Simerlys, but when Sissy’s Place (379 S. Idaho St.) closed down, the

building became available and she decided to start her business there instead. All through the month of October they will be having “PINK” specials to highlight Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Kristie (center) and her intrepid crew - sister Kelli Barr (left) and Cynthia Scott (right) - have the pots hot and are ready to pour you a cup of your favorite joe (they have cold drinks too). Call ahead to 536-9954 and have your order waiting when you drive up to the window.

They

even brought one of the “additive-manufacturing” devices home to the library. Ritter and Stowell were among nine staff members from six Magic Valley libraries who attended the event. One-third of the 21 libraries participating in the “Make It at the Library” project statewide are based in the Magic Valley. Other local participating libraries include Buhl Public Library, Burley Public Library, DeMary continued page 8.....

Last Friday, a severe storm system went through Camas County producing rain and a small tornado. At about 3:30 p.m. on October 2, a funnel cloud was spotted about eight miles west of Fairfield near Corral. While the funnel only briefly reached the ground, it did damage a machine shed and roll a travel trailer. Accumulated precipitation over the weekend was just over a half inch.
