In the past week, fall rains and snow at higher elevations have brought our area firmly into the range of average acumulated precipitation. While the past year was very dry (due mostly to the lack of snowpack), the recent rains may give our area a jumpstart for the coming water year (October 1st thru September 30th). The current forcast for the next three months is slightly higher than normal temperatures, while precipitation could go either way (NOAA). According the the Old Farmer’s Almanac we are in for a colder, snowier winter. So... you can take your pick.
