I

t was a rainy Antwerp night with the fog seeping into the Grote

Markt and cobble stone streets becoming slicker with ever y step.

I’m lost in the maze of avenues, hunkered over my map, my umbrella inside out, desperate to find my place of rest. I duck into a door way to gather my bearings and get some relief from the wet, looking up at the street signs and back at that infernal map, tucking myself deeper into the door way tr ying to keep ever ything dr y. From the corner of my eye I see a figure dancing in a shop window. I focus my gaze and see another and another... so much for finding my hotel, I’m mesmerized. There are dozens magical faces looking back at me. Stunning. It is moments like this when you stumble upon something so special, so intimate and one of a kind. Something that you might have never discovered but for the wind, the rain and the labyrinth of alleys. Magical.
