ALBANS: Vermont Governor Phil Scott spent the day Tuesday touring different aspects of St. Albans as his cabinet was making their way through the County learning more about the needs of area residents and learning what is working with State Government for many of the residents. Dubbed “Capitol for a Day,” Scott has traveled to two other counties before Franklin. It is not unusual to see government officials more active on campaign years. Bernie Sanders and Peter Welch have both been visiting Franklin County towns more in the last six months than in the early part of their terms, but Scott said early Tuesday morning that he had been planning this type of visit to Vermont’s 14 Counties sooner, but had not had a chance to get all the workings figured out in time for 2017. Scott visited six areas of the Town and City with part of his cabinet while the rest worked their way through the county, meeting in 16 other locations. THE CO-OP The Scott Administration met in the St. Albans Co-op meeting room for about an hour on Tuesday morning, giving updates to the Governor on aspects of their departments as well as an update on what they would be doing that day. Al Gobeille, Secretary of Human Services, shared with the Governor that caseworkers were finding themselves in difficult places as they spend much of their day at homes, talking to parents, and deciding on the future of the living conditions of kids. Many of these caseworkers, Gobeille told Scott, are doing so in areas that have little to no cell phone coverage, leading to the already dangerous aspects of their jobs. He went on to tell the Governor that these workers have recently been equipped with a safety device that
