The Oregon Community Foundation, in partnership with the Siletz Bay Music Festival and the Lincoln City Cultural Center, has awarded Taft High 7-12, and Oceanlake and Taft Elementary schools with a $210,000 Studio to Schools Grant. The grant will be distributed over the next three years with the possibility of $70,000 for an additional two years, according to Siletz Bay Music Festival Chair Christine Tell. “Our Studio to Schools Project builds on the strong partnership of our principals and schools,” Tell said. “This grant will benefit our students,

Memorial Day is seen by many as the holiday weekend that launches summer, but more importantly, it is

Lincoln City’s first medical marijuana dispensary has opened at 1745 S.W. Highway 101 following City Council approval in general commercial zones. Lincoln City resident Randy Mallette is the first to open a dispensary in the city following the council’s action on April 28. Pipe Dreams, adjoining the Tam Oriental Furniture building and next to Vivian’s Restaurant and Bill’s Barbeque on the west side of Highway 101 and just south of the Tanger Outlet Center, is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
