MAX KIRKENDALL newsguardeditor@countrymedia.net

Output Music was a music community cornerstone for Lincoln County from 2005 to 2011 and a local favorite for music lovers. And in 2020 Output will be reopening even bigger and better than ever under the new name ‘Output Records.’ Lincoln City’s new again music store will sell vinyl records, turntables, music accessories and a curated selection of clothing, home goods and accessories. Owners, Corrie and Taj Richardson, said they have a new goal of helping the Central Oregon Coast get into vinyl records. “The music format has made a big comeback over the last 10 years; we’re

It’s what some might call a happy accident or a pleasant coincidence. When you walk into the new Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital, you’ll see several striking photographs, most containing a hidden heart, tucked away in nature.

“It’s like a little hidden meaning that maybe isn’t meant to be there, but it’s really special for us because it’s what we do… we take care of people,” said Chief Executive Officer Lesley Ogden, MD, MBA, FACEP. The photos in the new $42 million facility are the handy work of local photographers Bob Gibson and Jeri Knudson, owners of The Photography Studio in the Taft district of Lincoln City. Working together in some way or another since 1992, Gibson worked as an human resources consultant in West Linn and met Knudson who worked for a company that he was doing HR consulting work for.

“We kept in touch and when we discovered we both did photography we started working together,” Knudson said. The pair each their own photography business, Gibson coined Blue Water Photography and Knudson owned JAKs Photography Studio. In 2013, they began exclusively working together. With year’s of photography experience, Gibson and Knudson have put together several wonderful pieces of art. But when the hospital approached them with an ambitious goal of creating large high definition images for their new

LCPD achieves fundraising goal for new K9 program THE NEWS GUARD

The members of the Lincoln City Police Department are pleased to announce that the fundraising efforts for the department’s K9 program has successfully reached its initial goal of $75,000. “We would like to take the opportunity to sincerely thank all the citizens, businesses and organizations who so generously donated to the fund raising efforts for the department to obtain and implement a K9 program,” LCPD officials said. “The response and support from the public has been phenomenal and we sincerely appreciate the generosity from our community members and businesses, as well as those outside the community who stepped up and made this program happen.” LCPD gave a special thank you to Meredith Lodging along with Oksenholt Capital, who put out a matching funds challenge that helped push the fundraising efforts up to and over the initial goal. Meredith Lodging and Oksenholt Capital joined together to donate up to $10,000 for the

LCPD K9 Project, which was matched by the community in December. “The entire city benefits from this important program,” said Aaron Linfoot, vice president of operations for Meredith Lodging back in October. “Meredith Lodging is committed to investing in the success of the communities where our employees live and work, and where our Meredith Lodging owners have homes.” LCPD stated that the mission of the K9 Project is to promote a positive relationship between the community and the LCPD through education on the modern day use of the Law Enforcement K9. Oksenholt Capital CEO Jon Oksenholt said his company was honored to join in on helping the LCPD reach their goal. “The police work hard to keep our communities safe,” Oksenholt said. “Statistics
