9:30 p.m. Fourth of July fireworks are a long-standing Brookings tradition. This year they will begin at 10 p.m. launched from the Chetco River Bar – Sports Haven Beach. The roads into Sports haven Beach will be closed all day, and the Coast Guard will close the bar at 9 p.m. The show is scheduled to run 20 minutes and the Coast Guard will reopen the bar then.

Background Fund raising captain for the 2023 Love Your 4th Fireworks Show Henry Johnson announced the Harbor Volunteer Fire Association has taken the lead to produce the show. “This exciting news means the show will continue for years to come,” the LoveYour4th website states. “Henry

will remain as fundraising captain for 2023 and 2024 and has a team in place to support the Harbor Fire Volunteers in their fundraising and management efforts of this treasured community event.” The Harbor Volunteer Fire Association is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. The board is made up of five community members who serve in the roles of president,

vice president, secretary, treasurer and sergeant-atarms. The website states, “We are excited for the opportunity to take the lead for producing the 4th of July fireworks show.”

STAFF REPORT Country Media, Inc. Oregon legislative leaders have announced the $153 million Behavioral Health Care Delivery Budget Framework. The investments will help strengthen the state’s behavioral health workforce, stabilize mobile crisis funding, and support response and recovery resources to ensure access to high-quality, affordable services for everyone who needs them, according to the legislative leaders.

The Behavioral Health Care Delivery Budget framework builds on 2021-2022 investments, stabilizes mobile crisis response funding and coordination between care centers and response systems. Part of the framework is House Bill 2757, which passed out of the House Revenue Committee June 20. The bill will expand and build on American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding and programming for 9-8-8, the national suicide prevention hotline number launched in Oregon
