Huskies have seven placers at final tournament By COLE BENZ

The Hettinger Huskie USA Wrestling club finished their season on a high note in Jamestown at the State Freestyle and Greco wrestling tournament on April 29-30. The team sent nine wrestlers and placed seven of them. Connor Andress placed third in Greco and fourth in freestyle. Cade Warbis

placed fifth in Greco. Cooper Guthrie didn’t place in greco but wrestled to a 2ndplace finish in freestyle. Tyler Schalesky placed fifth in Greco and third in freestyle. Isaac Guthrie and Skye Kramlich also competed, but neither place. Huskies head coach Randy Burwick said that both wrestlers won matches, and that Kramlich competed in the largest weight group in his age division.

After previously placing first at the Folkstyle state tournament, Kyle Burwick capped his season off by winning the North Dakota Triple Crown when he placed first in Greco and freestyle. The Huskies started wrestling shortly after the high school wrestling season ended. This year they had over 60 kids come out for the team, and Burwick said he witnessed an improve-

ment of his team from last year. “It was crazy,” Burwick said about the change he saw from last season. The Huskies usually wrestle between 40 and 50 matches of USA tournament wrestling each year, Burwick said. But they have a small turnout for the Greco and Freestyle tournament. Burwick thinks it’s because

Adams County Auditor Pat Carroll said that while some spots are worse than others, there is enough need to repair the whole road. “There’s work that needs to be done on all of it,” Carroll said. “Some is just worse than the other.” A start date has yet to be determined, Carroll said the county engineer was going to send an award letter to the contractor that they will have to sign and send back. When the county receives the letter back, she said they might have a better idea of when the project will begin. “I’m guessing once we receive [the signed letter] back, we’ll know a project start date, and end date,” Carroll said. An end date will be given to the contract when more is known about what the project will entail. When construction is finished the road will be paved, so a timeline may depend on what the condition is under the current chip-seal. “I guess we really won’t know [the condition] until, you know, [the contractors] get in there,” Carroll said. “They’re going to have to dig down and find out what the base

They had a chance to tie the game with less than a minute to go but, Sam Kludt blocked a close in shot by Teigen which more than likely saved the game from being tied. The Ranchers got the ball back with 10 seconds left but could not get off a good shot. Kludt was having a problem finding his shooting touch but his blocked shot was definitely one of the key moments for the

The project, Carroll said, a big part of the funding is coming out of grants the county received under HB1176.

“The majority of [the project] is going to be paid by that grant,” Carroll said. Carroll said the project will cost an estimated $1.7 million, and reiterated to the Record that a majority of it is covered under the grant, but she couldn’t give a percentage at this point in time. goal. The plan is to completely renovate each individual resident room – new flooring, new paint, new lighting, new furniture, new decorations – even new sinks and toilets! This building was erected in 1968 and is in dire need of refurbishments. Of course, no one wants to place their parents, siblings, and/or spouses into a care center; but sometimes, due to location or conditions, we have no choice. As a community, we want our elderly residents to have a nice, clean, home-like atmosphere to enjoy the last years of their life. Together we can make our current Care Center more comfortable, more appealing and more home-like for our residents. Being ranked recently as a five out of five star care center, we have the service side going strong. Now we need to improve our facility. There are a variety of different ways you can join the “One Room” Campaign: 1) you can send a check to WRHSF ($100 or more gets you on the Donor Wall; $2500 or more gets you an engraved plaque outside a resident room), 2) you can make a monetary pledge over time (say 2-5 years), 3) you can join us as a family, business, or organization, where you sponsor an entire room from $2,500 - $4,000,
