This course covers a variety of topics from basics such as cardiovascular and breathing emergencies, CPR-C and prevention of disease transmission, to in-depth topics such as sudden medical conditions and injuries to the head and spine. Part of the course is taught in an outdoor setting and requires greater physical activity and endurance than typical first aid training. Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Recertification This four-hour AED training is for those people whose duty is to respond to cardiac arrest at their facility. Typically, security guards, ski patrollers, lifeguards, loggers and other people whose job description includes emergency response are logical candidates for this course. Training will be specific to the AED on your worksite. Upon completion, you will receive a certificate that is valid for one year. Prerequisite: Current WorkSafeBC OFA Level 1 or equivalent.
