Costa Brava Girona Convention Bureau: about us The Costa Brava Girona Convention Bureau (CBGCB) is the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board product club that works to boost business tourism in the province of Girona.

This brand is the result of the cooperation and coordination between over 140 companies and entities specialised in meetings, incentives, conferences and events tourism (MICE) and the public sector. With the backing of the Girona Provincial Council and the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board, the CBGCB and its members have succeeded in positioning Girona as one of the top alternatives to the big European meetings destinations.

How to get here The province of Girona enjoys a privileged location, in the northeast corner of the Iberian Peninsula.

The Girona Pyrenees form its northern boundary, creating a natural border with France, and to the south lies the city of Barcelona, just 103 km away.

The Girona trade fair site, which promotes the city’s various economic sectors, is composed of the Exhibition Centre and the Conference Centre, occupying a total surface area of 30,000 m2 in Devesa Park. The Exhibition Centre, the main building on the Fira de Girona site, occupies a surface area of 10,000 m2 on two levels. It is complemented by the 3 auditoriums and 13 conference rooms belonging to the Conference Centre, which can host meetings of up to 1,700 people at once.

The trade fair site is located right next to the city’s historical and commercial centre, and just 10 minutes from the high-speed railway station (AVE), with direct links to Barcelona, Madrid and Paris, among other cities.

The Roses Conference Centre is a spectacular new building that received the FAD Architecture Award 2003. It contains several multi-purpose spaces suitable for conferences, conventions, meetings, shows and exhibitions. The facilities include modern sound and lighting equipment. A maintenance service is also provided.

It is located in the centre of the town of Roses and forms part of a large space that also includes a 1,300 m2 square and parking facilities for 100 vehicles.

The Teatre Principal, built at the end of the nineteenth century and rebuilt in the early twentieth century, is located on Passeig d’en Blay, a dynamic area in the heart of the city. The building, declared a Site of National Cultural Interest, is suitable for hosting events with up to 250 people.

Complementary activities are also offered, such as a visit to the Montsacopa volcano, which can be reached on foot from the theatre and is the best vantage point to admire the city’s landscape.

The Castle of La Trinitat is a fort built during the reign of the Holy Roman Emperor Charles V, which has recently been restored according to contemporary criteria, revealing its original dimensions and emphasising the imposing form of its ancient structure.

Built in the fourteenth century, this former convent was used as a military hospital in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. It has housed a multidisciplinary cultural centre for performing arts, arts and humanities since 1984. It is also used as a unique venue for welcome cocktails, receptions, etc.

The auditorium is located in the convent’s former church and features a Gothic-style layout and polychrome wooden ceiling.

The space is equipped with a 70 m2 stage (10 m wide and 7 m deep) with lighting and sound equipment. The room provides excellent acoustics with theatre seating in the stalls and pit. The cloister forms the building’s main axis.

The central area of the cloister is landscaped and the side areas are ideal for using for catering or as an exhibition space. The multipurpose hall can be adapted to different uses.

The Girona City Convention Bureau & Congress Centre is an initiative of the Girona City Council that aims to promote the city as a destination for business tourism and the ideal spot for hosting conferences, conventions, forums, symposiums and a range of other events.

Girona is the capital of the province, strategically located just 30 km from the Costa Brava, 80 km from the French border and 100 km from Barcelona.

The city is well-connected: the high-speed train can reach Barcelona in 37 minutes, Madrid in three and a half hours and Paris in five and a half. The Costa Brava-Girona Airport is 12 km from the city and the Barcelona-El Prat Airport a mere 90 km.

Girona has all the charm of a large city but without the crowds. It is a city built on a human scale, where everything is close enough to be seen on foot.

The city boasts more than two thousand years of history and today is home to the Call, one of the bestpreserved Jewish quarters in Europe, as well as one of the best restaurants in the world, reasons enough to make it an internationally recognised tourist destination.

Incentive activities Thanks to the unique geographical features of the Costa Brava and the Girona Pyrenees, you can enjoy all sorts of activities (whether by land, sea or air), as a perfect complement to business meetings or incentive trips.

The experiences are unlimited. Guided Segway, horseriding, quad, bike, foot or snowshoe trails, adapted to the travel of participants, are a great way to discover breathtaking landscapes. Kayaking or similar trips, orienteering competitions on the beach or exclusive dinners in a hidden cove on the Costa Brava.
