ES Granja de Rocamora está situada al sur de la provincia de Alicante. Está además situado en la comarca de la Vega Baja del Segura y cuenta con 2.372 habitantes.

Nuestro clima mediterráneo es caluroso oscila entre 12ºC en inverno y 30ºC en verano.

Ocupa una situación privilegiada por sus comunicaciones entre Murcia y Alicante de las que

dista entre 35 y 45 kilómetros respectivamente.

Otras carreteras comarcales la comunican con Albatera y San Isidro al norte. Y Cox, Callosa de Segura y Orihuela al suroeste.

EN The town of Granja de Rocamora is located in the south of Alicante. It is also located in the district of Vega Baja del Segura region and has a population of 2,372 people.

climate is very warm, with temperatures above 12ºC winter and 30ºC in the summer.

It borders with the township of Albatera and San Isidro to the north, Callosa de Segura and Orihuela to the southwest.

ES Granja es un pueblo de tradición agrícola. El pueblo debe el nombre a la familia Rocamora que en tiempos de reconquista de estas tierras, acompañó al Rey Don Jaime I el

conquistador. Este les dio tierras en agradecimiento y los convirtió en una de las primeras familias de la comarca. Los Rocamora marcaron la historia de la localidad a lo

largo de los tiempos.

EN Granja has traditionally been an agricultural village.

The village’s name becomes from the Rocamora’s family in the reconquest time of these lands, the King Mr.Jaime I. He gave them land in

gratitude and became one of the first families of the region. The “Rocamora” marked the history of the town.

EN This church dates from (18th Century) but has been restored recently. It highlights the central cupola and paintings, now there are situated as independent paintings in the church.

GRANJA ESCUELA Y ALBERGUE LA VIÑA La Granja escuela “LA VIÑA” ha ampliado sus recursos y mejorado sus instalaciones para un mayor enriquecimiento y aprovechamiento del espacio y ampliar su oferta para los visitantes. Ha incorporado un albergue con un aforo de cincuenta plazas, comedor, piscina, barbacoa y merendero exterior y parque infantil. De este modo se ofrece EN mejor servicio y acogimiento ante la celebración un de distintos eventos privados y públicos, visitas extra escolares, convivencias en el medio rural, etc.

EN The Farm School and hostel "LA VIÑA" has expanded the place and improved services and facilities for the enrichment and use of space and expand their offerings for visitors.

He has built a hostel with a capacity of fifty beds, dining, pool, barbecue and outdoor picnic area and playground. On this way we have a better service and welcome to holding private and public events, extra school visits, and youth camps in a rural areas.

ES Granja de Rocamora cuenta con dos hoteles, Hotel Costa Blanca Y Hotel Versalles ubicados en una situación privilegiada ya que se encuentran muy cerca de la autovía A7 dirección Alicante Murcia facilitándo así su acceso.

ES La Asociación de peregrinos de la Santa Cruz ha habilitado un espacio donde sintetiza la cultura de los años de posguerra y la dureza del trabajo del agricultor antes de la llegada de las máquinas a la huerta. La exposición permanente también cuenta con una sección dedicada a las fiestas de la Santa Cruz y a la relación entre los granjeros y las Banderas.

EN The Association of pilgrims of the Holy Cross has set up a space where culture synthesizes the postwar years and the hard work of the farmer before the arrival of the machines to the agriculture.

It has also a permanent exhibition dedicated to the celebrations of the town.

ES El Museo etnográfico cuenta con enseres y muebles antiguos típicos de la vivienda tradicional de Granja de Rocamora, de utensilios de los trabajos del cañamo y de las alpargatas, en él se recoge la esencia de lo que fue el pueblo de nuestros abuelos.

EN Ethnographic museum features old furniture and furnishings typical of the traditional home of Granja de Rocamora, utensils of the work of hemp and sandals, in it the essence of what was the people of our grandparents is collected.

ES SERMÓN DE LAS 7 PALABRAS Durante el periodo de semana santa Granja de Rocamora cada año ofrece la oportunidad de asistir a la representación realizada por ciudadanos del municipio en colaboración con la Iglesia al “sermón de las 7 palabras” las últimas frases que pronunció Jesús antes de su crucifixión. Este acto forma parte de una de las tradiciones más atractivas del municipio.

ES CANTOS AUROROS QUE COMIENZAN EL DESPERTAR Tradición centenaria desde el siglo XVII que se trasmite de generación en generación. Hombres y mujeres del municipio de Granja de Rocamora iluminan de madrugada con sus cánticos religiosos todos los rincones del pueblo. Abuelos, nietos e hijas comparten con ilusión el recorrido nocturno por las calles y plazas durante todos los domingos del mes de Octubre.

EN Old tradition dated from 17st Century that it is trasmitted from generation to generation. People of the town of Granja de Rocamora go walking on light of dawn with their religious people all over the streets.

Grandparents, grandchildren and daughters share forward to the night tour through the streets and squares for every Sunday of October.

NUEVA UNIÓN MUSICAL La actividad bandística hunde sus raíces a finales de 1900 aproximándose al siglo XIX. Desde entonces esta actividad se ha mantenido de forma ininterrumpida (excepto en la guerra civil), la banda de música ha alcanzado diversos cambios de nombres a lo largo de todo este tiempo. Actualmente nueva unión musical. Desde su fundación, la sociedad musical ha realizado una importante labor en educación y formación musical de jóvenes.

EN The activity band rooted in late 1900 approaching the nineteenth century. Since this activity has remained uninterrupted (except in the civil war), the band has achieved several name changes over this time. Actually the name is “new musical union”. EN During the Easter time in Granja de Rocamora everybody has the opportunity to see the representation made by devote people of the town in collaboration with the Church to "Sermon on the 7 words" the last words spoken by Jesuschrist before his crucifixion.

This event is part of one of the most attractive traditions of the town.

Procesión del Lignum Crucis acompañado de las banderas

ES SUBASTA DE LAS BANDERAS Las banderas se han convertido en un símbolo del pueblo y de tradición, de color rojo, con el emblema y signo de la Cruz y dos inscripciones, en una pone con este “Signo vencerás” y la otra “Viva la Santa Cruz”, que presiden todos los actos.

Los actos y desfiles de la fiesta acaban el 3 de Mayo con "la subasta de las banderas" en la Ermita de la Cruz.

EN The flags have become a symbol of the people of the town and the one of the most important tradition, red, with the emblem and sign of the cross and two inscriptions, in a setting with the "You will get over with this sign" and the other "welcome to the holy cross" which is presiding over all acts.

Last day of the celebrations is on 3rd of May with "the flags auction" and it is made in the Hermitage of the Holy Cross.

ES ROMERÍA DE LAS FIESTAS DE LA EXALTACIÓN DE LA SANTÍSIMA CRUZ (14 DE SEPTIEMBRE) La Romería de las fiestas de la Exaltación de la Cruz se celebra al domingo siguiente

de la festividad. Se inicia desde la ermita de la Santísima Cruz hasta la Granja escuela “La Viña” donde se comparte un día en homenaje a la Santa Cruz y se regresa a las 18.00 de la tarde en

romería junto con la banda de música.

EN Because of the celebrations to the Cross of September the next Sunday from the festivity of the Holy Cross is celebrated from the chapel of the Holy Cross to the Farm School "La Viña" where everybody

can spend a day in honour of the Holy Cross and returns to the Chapel at 18:00 pm walking along with the music band.

ES TRADICIONAL MEDIO MARATON 1 DE MAYO Desde 1989 se lleva celebrando esta marat贸n para atracci贸n del turismo deportivo, el participante se desplaza a correr en compa帽铆a de familia

y amigos aprovechando para conocer y disfrutar los comercios de la localidad de acogida.

EN Since 1989 it has been realised the running marathon for sports tourism attraction, the participants moves to run in a family company and friends, so it is the perfect opportunity to visit and enjoy the shops and the

touristic places in the host town.

LA SENDA DEL POETA La senda del poeta es una actividad que en los últimos años ha batido todos los récords y expectativas tanto en participación como en difusión de la obra y vida del poeta Miguel Hernández. La senda se ha consolidado como una de las citas del senderismo con mayor repercusión cultural, incluso a nivel internacional.

Many people is interested on it because people has the opportunity to remind the dissemination of the work and life of the poet Miguel Hernández. The footway has become one of the quotes hiking with greater cultural impact, even internationally.

ITINERARIO DE LOS CABEZOS Con la meta de utilizar el medio rural, la oferta de actividades medio ambientales al aire libre, senderismo, rutas y excursiones colectivas, así como disfrutar del paisaje que nos ofrece los cabezos en su antigüedad histórica como patrimonio del municipio de Granja de Rocamora, se ha incorporado una mejora en el itinerario de los mismos.

CAMINO DEL LIGNUM CRUCIS La devoción a la Vera Cruz ha sido el motivo de buscar caminos que unan a través de un recorrido a pié las localidades de Abanilla y Ulea con Caravaca de la Cruz.

Los peregrinos que quieran realizar su tránsito itinerante podrán hacerlo por caminos que procuran su tranquilidad y el disfrute de la naturaleza.

ES FIESTAS MAYORES DE LA SANTÍSIMA CRUZ Las fiestas de la Santa Cruz son las principales de Granja de Rocamora, del 30 Abril al 3 de Mayo. El pueblo tiene el honor de venerar un Lignum

crucis, porción de la Cruz de la Pasión y Muerte de Cristo.

Esta reliquia es llevada el 3 de Mayo en procesión a la ermita de la Santa Cruz donde tiene lugar la Bendición de los Aires. Con este acto

los granjeros ruegan al cielo por la protección de las cosechas.

En el año 2013 se instaló en la ermita un templete o tabernáculo para guardar el relicario y la reliquia del Lignum Crucis.

EN The general celebration of the Holy Cross is the most important festivity in Granja de Rocamora, everybody can enjoy them from 30th of April to 3rd of May. The people have the honours to worship

one Lignum Crucis sliver of the Cross of the Passion and Death of J.C. This relic is born on 3st of May in procession to the hermitage of Santa Cruz. With this act farmers pray to heaven for the

country protection.

In 2013 the chapel was installed in a small temple or tabernacle to save the shrine and the relic of the True Cross “Lignum Crucis”.

ES La festividad de San Pedro Apóstol se celebra el 29 de Junio, siendo el patrón de Granja de Rocamora.

Celebrándolo con la solemne misa y su procesión.

VIRGEN DEL ROSARIO El día 7 de Octubre se celebra la festividad de la Virgen del Rosario, patrona de Granja de Rocamora. Durante este mes los Auroros cantan de madrugada y acompañan el tradicional rosario de la Aurora por las calles de la localidad.

EN The main patronal fest is celebrated on June 29; Saint Peter Apostle is the patron of the town of Granja de Rocamora. The eucharist and procession is carry out.
