International Day Parade Saturday saw around 12,000 people flock to the first international day event, held at Cabo Roig. and with the sun shining down and clear blue skies, organisers were delighted that it wasn’t going to rain on their parade. the bars and restaurants were buzzing with people and the atmosphere was electric as everyone
waited for the main parade. tKo Radio, the events official radio station, was on hand to entertain the crowds playing top tunes from across the decades and many of the bars had local performers entertaining their customers. the international day event was organised Cabo Roig Business association and oC avanza, and
was organised to replace the annual St Patrick’s day parade, which was cancelled two years running, due to the pandemic and this year due to torrential rain. the committee realised how disappointed the local community was not to have the celebration and approached the town hall with the idea of an international day extravaganza. international day (11th May) is an Unesco day designed to united people across the world, of all cultures and nationalities. it is a celebration of traditions and harmonious living, and where better to celebrate this than in Continued on page 3
