UNIVERSITY LIFE

Dormitories at Corvinus Corvinus University of Budapest can accommodate its students in six dorms. Three dorms belong to the Közgáz Campus, while the other three belong to the Budai Campus. These buildings provide residence for over 1500 students in Budapest. Közgáz Campus Tarkaréti Kollégium On the Közgáz Campus, freshmen can only choose the Tarkaréti Kollégium, so this is the most popular dorm in Pest, with many parties; it is full of Corvinus students, and many of them are freshmen. The only disadvantage is that the dorm is rather far from the university building, so it takes about 40 minutes via public transport to get there. The building is in good condition; it is clean, and there are men’s and women’s bathrooms/showers on every floor. The rooms are triple-size and are very roomy. There are many parties in the dorm; indeed, they even have their own mini-festival every semester – the Tarka Napok – which is a three-day-long party.

Kinizsi Kollégium Second-year students can choose from two other dorms as well, both of which are close to the university’s buildings. One of them is Kinizsi Kollégium, which also provides home to the EVK advanced college. This is the biggest downtown dorm of the Corvinus University of Budapest, being only a block away from it. Although the building itself is not brand new, most of it has been renovated. There are mixed bathrooms on every floor, and the rooms have either two or five beds. Other than the residents, many people come here to the gym, or for PE classes. You don’t have to go far for a party, either – there is a party place called Africafé right in the basement.

Földes Ferenc Kollégium The other site is the Földes Ferenc Kollégium, which gives place to two advanced dorms: TEK and SZISZ. This is the nicest and quietest dormitory, and good grades are a criteria for students wanting to live here. Although there are no loud parties or a wild dorm life, worry not, for there are plenty of pubs nearby!
