Welcome A Message from the Board of Directors Welcome to the 2021 Northwest Washington Fair. I’m sure you all understand just how good it feels to say that. The Board missed all of you in 2020. Enjoying Safe, Clean, Fun all ten days of Fair. We look forward to seeing all of you and speaking of which, we are thrilled to bring you more Fair than ever before. After a year off, it felt like we could all use a bit more time celebrating our community together. The move also allowed us to accept more youth livestock exhibitors than ever before. That’s more experiences with leadership, responsibility, and dedication. We are proud this year to have a limited opening of the Farming for Life Experience. This state-of-the-art, interactive exhibit was designed by the mind behind Walt Disney World Epcot’s ‘Land’ exhibit. Whether you’re a greenhorn or a second-generation farmer, there are plenty of new facts and experiences around every corner. The exhibit has been completed from locally raised funds, so thank you to all who have donated to preserve the legacy of farming in the Pacific Northwest. The exhibit still needs some work before it can be opened to the public year-round, so additional donations are welcome. Thank you for attending the 2021 Northwest Washington Fair, where there’s more to EXPERIENCE than can be done in one day!

Health and Safety While the health and safety of our guests has always been our first priority, last year made it more evident than ever. Our goal has always been to provide Safe, Clean, Fun. This led to our relationship with the Global Biorisk Advisory Council and, receiving their STAR accreditation. The process to receive the accreditation took the better part of a year, as they reviewed our existing cleaning and sanitization processes, made recommendations, and affirmed that our facility reaches an international standard of cleanliness. Other organizations that have received their GBAC STAR accreditation include T-Mobile Park and American Airlines. Another way we are protecting our guests is to offer contactless payments at all of our food and beverage locations. The BlastPass system, will allow guests to be able to pay for food and beverage items without handing over a card or cash. Special RFID readers at each booth will scan guests BlastPass card or wristband so your hands are clean when you grab your corndog. There are 11 BlastPass stations throughout the grounds, where you can pick up or refill your BlastPass. All BlastPass kiosks located in alcohol service areas accept cash, as do the three staffed locations near Gate 1, behind the Grandstands, and at Guest Services across from the Clock Tower. Once you have your BlastPass card or wristband, you can use it all Fair long! At the end of your visit you can receive a cash refund at Guest Services or go online and request the remaining balance. BlastPass is provided at no cost to our guests, so you can enjoy all the Fair food you’ve been craving these past two years. As always, there are numerous handwashing stations located throughout the grounds. Be sure to wash your hands often, particularly after visiting animal areas, using the restroom, and before eating. Current CDC guidance recommends all nonvaccinated individuals continue to wear masks to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus. If you are feeling unwell or displaying signs and symptoms of COVID-19, please stay home.

Huckleberry Road Aug. 12 - 16

Briana Renea Aug. 17 - 21

Balancing tart twang with blazing fretwork has become another formula in the modern world of country music, at a time when it’s back in vogue to bring elements of rock into the mix. Reno, Nevada band Huckleberry Road transcend the average with those styles, though, as shown on their latest single, “Raybans.” A compelling mix of louder classic rock and melody-rich classic country, it’s available now for download, airplay and review.

Briana Renea is an American country music singer/ songwriter and Nashville recording artist from rural Northwest Oregon. Briana was awarded IMEA Female Country Vocalist of the year in 2018. Her latest single “Maybe You Can Be My Man” is the follow-up to last fall’s single, “Chasin’ Trouble” which hit the top 100 on the country radio charts.

Slim and Curly are riding into town again, back to the Northwest Washington Fair, bringing their small horses and tall tales along for the journey. Say hi when you pass by and you’ll be in for a laugh. You may even snap a photo with one of the banditos if you’re lucky. Catch them riding their trusty steeds throughout the fairgrounds all ten days. BILL ROBISON Bill Robison’s uproariously funny blend of masterful comedy, mimic and audience improvisation has made him hands-down a favorite wherever he goes! Working entirely within the crowd, Bill creates living caricatures of unsuspecting fairgoers. Be on the lookout for FUN.

Health & Safety

When should I wash my hands?

What is the right way to wash my hands?

• If you haven’t washed your hands recently, or if your hands are dirty. • After being near animals, touching dirty surfaces, using the bathroom, playing outside, sneezing or coughing. • Before touching others or eating food.

• Use plenty of soap and water. • Get a good lather on your hands, covering both sides of your hands, your wrists, between your fingers and around your fingernails, where dirt is often trapped. • Wash your hands for 15 to 20 seconds, or about how long it takes to sing “Happy Birthday” two times through. • If you do not have soap and water around, use hand sanitizer. Rub your hands together as if you had soap and water on them.

ROUGHSTOCK EVENTS Scores depend on a combination of both the cowboy’s and the animal’s performance. If the rider’s bull or horse doesn’t buck, the score will be much lower than if the animal is lively. A cowboy must stay aboard the animal for 8 seconds to even get a score; the remainder of the score depends on how well both rider and animal perform.

C5 Rodeo Company Inc. was founded in 2008 by Vern McDonald. Since then, they have grown to two locations in Lac La Biche, Alberta, and Threeforks, Montana. Running between 600-700 horses alone and over 100 top quality mares and 18 stallions, C5 Rodeo Company is currently one of North America’s largest bucking horse suppliers. The C5 Rodeo crew hopes everyone enjoys the rodeo here at Lynden and is proud to be a part of this great event! Find out more at C5rodeo.com

• Bareback Riding • Saddle Bronc Riding • Bull Riding TIMED EVENTS Scores depend solely on the cowboy’s performance. Riders race against each other; the contestant with the best time wins. There is no facet of the performance attributed to the animal. • Steer Wrestling • Team Roping • Tie Down Roping • Barrel Racing
