Vision Prayer Heavenly Father, by the power of Your Holy Spirit, we the faithful of Corpus Christi Parish, ask that You bless and sanctify us as we work together to implement our Vision. We ask that You guide us as we strive to love bravely, to serve radically and to meet all whom we encounter with humility and compassion. Help us to unite joyfully and lovingly as followers of your Son, Jesus, to take His message with us wherever we go. We know that by Your grace, we can make this Vision a reality. We ask this in the name of Your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

Diocesan Vaccination Policy

Pope Francis Visit to Canada

In recent weeks many conversations have been had regarding a diocesan vaccination policy. After much discussion, input from clergy and laity across the diocese, and prayer, a policy has been finalized and has been implemented for all clergy and staff (diocesan and parish). This policy has been put in place to continue our best efforts to keep the faithful we serve healthy and safe.

Pope Francis has accepted the invitation of the Canadian Bishops to make a pastoral visit to Canada on a pilgrimage of healing and reconciliation. The Canadian Conference of Bishops announced this news on October 27. While details are still being discussed, including the actual location and dates for a papal visit, a delegation of Indigenous Peoples and Canadian Bishops are finalizing details of a visit to the Vatican this December.

Please direct comments and questions regarding COVID-19 protocols to Deacon Robert Doyle at rdoyle@halifaxyarmouth.org or (902) 429-9800 ext 307. We are living in very complicated times. May we continue to be kind to one another, hold each other in prayer, and witness God’s goodness through our words and actions.

Saint Joseph, Protector of the Church, pray for us!

From December 17-20, 2021, the delegation that includes Indigenous survivors, Elders, knowledge keepers, and youth will meet with Pope Francis. This visit has been in the works for over two years and was delayed due to the pandemic. It is anticipated that further discussions about the Pope coming to Canada will be had at this time.

More information on both the papal visit and upcoming December delegation will be shared as details are confirmed.

In November, we celebrate All Saint's Day and pray for all the Faithful Departed. We have laminated prayer cards to many saints for special intentions, as well as for the Souls in Purgatory, all united with us in prayer in the communion of saints. If you are seeking a prayer card for a saint or special need, please contact Mary Crooks at 902-825-6495.

Little Church takes place during the Liturgy of the Word at Sunday Mass. Children who are not yet of First Communion age take part in an age-appropriate reflection on the Gospel. Right now, we are seeking leaders so that Little Church can return. If you enjoy reading and engaging with children, why not consider becoming a Little Church leader and spend some time with our youngest disciples one or two Sundays per month? That is all it takes to help with this important part of their faith formation. Support and training is provided. Contact Jennifer Moore if you are interested. She can answer any questions you may have. familylifeandyouth@corpuschristins.ca
