Vision Prayer 1st Reading

Heavenly Father, by the power of Your Holy Spirit, we the faithful of Corpus Christi Parish, ask that You bless and sanctify us as we work together to implement our Vision. We ask that You guide us as we strive to love bravely, to serve radically and to meet all whom we encounter with humility and compassion. Help us to unite joyfully and lovingly as followers of your Son, Jesus, to take His message with us wherever we go. We know that by Your grace, we can make this Vision a reality. We ask this in the name of Your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

Prayer to St. Joseph Hail, Guardian of the Redeemer, Spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary. To you God entrusted his only Son; in you Mary placed her trust; with you Christ became man. Blessed Joseph, to us too, show yourself a father and guide us in the path of life. Obtain for us grace, mercy and courage, and defend us from every evil. Amen. Prayer: © Libreria Editrice Vaticana

The last two shelters went up in Bedford this week. The construction and installation phase of our Crisis Emergency Shelter project took just over six weeks and we are grateful to the team at Well Engineered Inc. for putting in a lot of extra hours to make the phase of the project happen so quickly. Also, thanks to many generous donors we have fully funded the construction and installation costs for this project! The next phase of this project is caring for our guests. Parish teams have already begun work to support the immediate needs and will continue to with the guests and local service providers to help them try to take the next step toward safe, affordable, shelter. Please pray for our guests and all those affected by homelessness as we continue to look for ways to support those in need. CCCB Horizons for Hope In the fall, the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB) released Horizons For Hope: A toolkit for parishes on palliative care. The resource aims to: •

Empower and educate parishioners by addressing questions surrounding palliative care, dying, death, suffering, accompaniment, and bereavement in a holistic fashion.

Present high-quality content that explores how palliative care is understood from a perspective of Catholic moral and pastoral theology, medical expertise and the Compassionate Community model.

Facilitate meaningful conversations together so that our parishes and families become Compassionate Communities, grounded in the mercy and tenderness of the living Christ.

For more information on this free resource check the CCCB website: www.cccb.ca or click here.

Registration still open James is often called the New Testament wisdom book. It is designed to help people find joy and peace in our fast-paced secular world.

We have been in this pandemic for nearly two years. If you are struggling with the pandemic or any part of life, seek the wisdom of God found in Sacred Scripture. You don't need any prior experience to join this course and learn how James, the apostle, taught the early Christians to live in the difficult times of an anti-Christian culture and to live through persecution. The last day to register is Wednesday, January 19. We plan to have the introductory session on Monday, January 31st. The cost of the course materials is $30.
